At the time, they lived in Nakulabye, and the first family member he befriended was Shafiq. Shafiq introduced him to his brother Ata, who was also interested in singing, and later to Walda.

Walda later relocated to Texas, U.S., and launched her beauty products business during the COVID lockdown, leveraging social media to promote it.

In Uganda, she started contacting her friends to secure interviews, and Bruno K got her an opportunity to appear on the highly coveted Mwasuze Mutya with Faridah Nakazibwe, who had become friends with him.

While in the U.S., Walda sent significant sums of money to her family, which helped build a beautiful house for her mother.

When the family learned that she was planning to return to Kampala, Ata contacted Bruno K to create a tribute song as a way of appreciating her.

Bruno linked Ata to Taz, who wrote the song, and then to producer Big Davie Logic. Ata dealt with them directly, so Bruno did not receive any payment.

When Jalia arrived, the singer was invited to perform the song at her mother's house, and videos from the event went viral on social media.

However, he hadn't been paid for his contribution to the song's creation yet. During the performance, Jalia's husband gave him $100 and "about 300k shillings".

She also gave him Shs1 million after the performance but did not specify that it was payment for his vocal contribution to the song.

Before leaving, Bruno suggested they make a video, and Jalia told him to get a director. He had previously worked with Hash Pounds, so he introduced him to Jalia, and she paid Hash Shs2.8 million for labour and renting equipment.

They agreed on a time and day for the shoot, planning to spend the whole day together since the story to film was long. They decided to start at 9 A.M.

Bruno missed taking his daughter to school and arrived at the scene at 8:12 A.M., but Jalia was already complaining by 8 A.M. about the delay. Bruno called Ata, asking him to calm his sister down as he was on his way.

However, the director delayed, and Jalia left Nakulabye, where they were supposed to start, and went to Nansana.

She insisted on filming some scenes herself using a smaller camera and a phone.

When the director finally arrived, she refused to go to Nakulabye for the shoot. According to Bruno, she only gave him 200k for clothes.

Bruno had asked her to cover his expenses for the shoot, but she sent only the above amount, which wasn't enough. They usually spend about 700k on clothes.
