Residents of Bulinde village, Luweero District, are in shock after a 10-year-old missing girl was found dead.
The girl was allegedly kidnapped from a garden on Tuesday, 29th May, and her body was dumped near her parents' home.
Police authorities in Luweero District say they are investigating the girl's murder by the kidnappers, according to Daily Monitor.
Area police spokesperson told local media that they are waiting for final postmortem report to verify cause of death.
"We are investigating the circumstances under which the young girl went missing from her parents’ home and her murder," Paul Kangave said.
The girls parents reveals that their daughter didn't go to school on the day she was kidnapped because she wasn't feeling well.
On Monday, Uganda Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima issued an alert urging parents to remain vigilant as schools open amid increased kidnaps and murders in the country.
This year alone, 40 cases of kidnap have been reported and 10 victims have been murdered.
