Bukenya has sustained burns on his face, according to reports. His navigator, Frank Serugo, is safe.

The accident happened after the driver attempted a high jump.

The duo was competing in a 3-day Fort Portal rally which ends today, June 3rd, at Kalya Courts.

They were racing in a Mitsubishi Evo 9 in the competition which attracted ten drivers.

The Fort Portal rally is the 4th on the National Rally Championship (NRC) calendar and has a total distance of 237.4km; of which 144km are competitive.
