While appearing on a current affairs talk show on Monday 9 January, Lukwago first brushed off the allegations saying he would not respond to “mysterious chits.”

I am not here to discuss mysterious chits. The only person hyped about them is Minister Kyofatogabye and you know his character. Kindly spare me that crap,” he said.

Pressed further by the host, Lukwago said there are people who are always scheming to drug people into the mud upon realising that they are too dirty themselves.

People want to drag you into the mud. When people are dirty, they always want to make you also look dirty and that is the irony. What amuses me is they think that to bring down Lukwago, let’s create a picture of him being close to us,” he said.

He added: “The genesis of this matter is what they want to cover up, the genesis of this matter largely is about the cartels here in Kampala who are hell-bent on siphoning off public resources.”

The letter allegedly written by Saleh has been circulating on social media and has raised a lot of questions whether its content could be true or not.

Former Kampala Woman Member of Parliament Nabilah Nagayi Ssempala was seen throwing hints through her twitter account on what she thinks of the letter.

All the main opposition players know the special Bond that Lukwago and Gen Saleh have! It is a symbiotic relationship to placate the Kampala political elite! The grassroots support was betrayed by the stuffed ballot boxes in favor of Erias Lukwago 20th Jan 2021, courtesy of Saleh,” she twitted.

About roads in Kampala

Lukwago also raised concerns about the cost of roads constructed in Kampala by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).

They are telling you that each kilometer of that narrow stretch, more like a paved footpath with no trees on the sides and dim street lights costs UGX 10 billion” he said, adding, “Kabuusu - Bunamwaya - Lweza road is 8km but it cost UGX 93 billion, before you even talk about the Auditor General, as a layperson, is that road worth UGX 93 million?
