Northern Uganda Youth MP Oscar Otema Omony has been involved in a serious accident along Kampala-Gulu Highway.
The injured legislator was travelling with his family; including wife, daughter and the house help -- who also sustained injuries.
The MP and his wife have since been airlifted to Uganda's capital, Kampala, for specialised treatment.
Family says their condition has stabilised as they continue to receive treatment at International Hospital Kampala (IHK).
Omony's vehicle collided head on with a Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) car at Idobo Village, Bobi Sub-county Omoro District.
The people who were travelling in the UNRA car are receiving treatment at St Mary’s Hospital Lacor.
Investigations have been launched to ascertain the cause of the accident.
He is the second MP to get involved in an accident after Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) MP Charles Angiro Gutmoi crashed his car along the same highway.
