Nandutu out, Balaam Barugaraha, Gen Mbadi in as Museveni shuffles cabinet

President Yoweri Museveni has made changes in his cabinet, introducing several new faces and firing others.

In the reshuffle announced on Thursday evening, Museveni named Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi as the new Minister of State for Trade Industry and Cooperatives, preplacing Harriet Ntabazi.

Mbadi has been serving as the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) of the UPDF.

In other changes, Museveni named events promoters Balaam Barugahara the State Minister for Children and Youth Affairs replacing Hon Sarah Mateke.

Other new faces include Lillian Aber, who is coming in as the State Minister for Relief Disaster Preparedness and refugees.

Both Aber and Balaam serve as Regional Vice President on First Son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba's Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU).

The President also named youth MP Phiona Nyamutoro as the new state minister for Energy
