You can delete the words 'messy' and 'wasteful' from your mealtime with these hacks. The best part is you don't have to look for any extra help because the tools you need are some of your household items.

Using a knife can be difficult and messy when cutting pizza. Skip that mess with a quick snip of scissors that will easily leave the toppings and cheese in one clean cut.

Chopsticks offer the precision to pick out small foods like noodles and rice. When eating messy foods like ribs or chicken wings, chopsticks can offer protection against oily sauce-filled fingers. If nothing else, they will make you more careful when eating....even though there's little fun in that!

If the traditional 'bouncing the fruit on a hard surface to make it soft' doesn't work for you, there's a simpler way to juicy-up citruses. If you have a microwave, you're in luck, simply put your oranges or lemons, or lime in there for a few seconds. It will be softer and easy to squeeze.

Get an extra ice cube tray for your leftover wine! You can throw them in a food recipe or chill another glass of wine without diluting it.

It will be easier to pour. Microwave a jar of crystallised honey for 20 seconds to make it liquid.

Don't worry about your cookies hardening. Simply add a slice of bread to a container containing your cookies. It will keep them fresh and soft.

Instead of a knife, use a spoon to peel ginger. It is easier and doesn't waste ginger from cutting. Place the edge of the spoon on the ginger and make scraping motions until the peel is off.
