How the stars aligned Sheilah and Rickman for Beyonce's Renaissance Tour

Watching Beyonce perform in Sweden was the couple's first choice. It would have been the perfect scene due to Rickman's Swedish ties and, well, Beyonce performing. Unfortunately, the surprise which came on Sheilah's birthday would turn into a nightmare.

Beyonce's Renaissance Tour started on May 10 and will run 57 shows until September 27. Rickman had bought the Sweden slot of the tour for Gashumba on her birthday in February this year. It would have been her first time in Sweden and her first time watching Beyonce live on stage, "we felt like it would be great to watch her in Sweden because I have never been to Sweden before and since he is Swedish- Ugandan. we thought it will be more memorable." However, all anticipation came to a halt when she started to process her travel documents.

Gashumba blames the Ugandan Passport for the difficulty she faced when applying for a visa to Sweden. It is not a farfetched accusation though, because according to Visa Guide Passport Index, the Ugandan Passport ranks 141st as of June 2023. This means that Ugandan Citizens can access 38 countries without a visa. However, the remaining countries require a visa and can subject applicants to whatever laws and regulations that might be in place.

"As a person who holds a Ugandan passport, application for visas is the worst thing ever, when I applied for SCHEGEN visa I was given an appointment for July yet the concert date was for May. Even when I tried to get an earlier or emergency appointment, nothing was available and we sadly didn’t make it to Sweden," she says.

The couple then gave out the tickets to friends in Sweden to enjoy themselves. Perhaps it was good karma because around the time Beyonce was touring Europe, Sheilah and Rickman both got booked for the mixtape party in London.

This time, they got Golden Circle tickets which gave them a pass from waiting in line. The Socialite, however, didn't want to take her chances so she arrived early to wait in her seat. It was totally worth it in the end.

"We had GOLDEN CIRCLE tickets. The tickets didn’t have a time limit but we still went 1 hour earlier, grabbed a few snacks and waited for the QUEEN. When @beyonce came out on stage, it’s like the world had stopped for a second, it was the first time I was star-struck in my entire life. She was absolutely beautiful, stunning, gorgeous and the show began!!!!" she says.
