Nicole, real names Emmanuela Musimenta, who has been undergoing intense school coaching says she feels confident that her results will surprise many.

“I cannot say much now but what I can tell you is that people should expect a first grade. I intend to surprise all of you,” said the 16-year-old, who only months ago admitted to running out of school due to her poor academic performance.

Yesterday, her guardian, Dr. Kulthum Nabunya paid her a visit at her school where she delivered a package to wish her success in her exams.

Kulthum also delivered gifts from Nicole's friends and well-wishers from Uganda and Canada. Among these was a cake sent by media personality Diana Nabatanzi.

Kuthum also expressed confidence about the teenager’s academic performance so far and praised her for staying the course and focusing on her studies, contrary to what many had predicted.

“I think she has ashamed the devil,” Kulthum said.

There are many people who did not expect us to be here. Some people called and insulted me when I announced that I was taking her back to school…but here we are.

She has not embarrassed me; she has been no trouble at school, the teachers love her and she is actually doing well academically.

What we hope for now is good performance so that she can go to secondary school and hopefully someday we shall be her graduation ceremony.”

On her part, Nicole thanks Dr Kulthum for being “a true mother” and for putting her on the correct path
