Uganda's NRG Radio named best E. Africa radio at regional Arts Entertainment Awards

The Clement Hill Rd-based station has swiftly established itself as a leader in radio broadcasting

NRG Radio Uganda, a station known for its youthful energy and innovative approach, has secured the prestigious title of Best Radio Station in East Africa at the East Africa Arts Entertainment Awards.

They beat NRG Radio Kenya, Kiss FM 102.3 Rwanda and Wasafi FM Tanzania to the award.

This recognition comes within their first year of operation.

The Clement Hill Rd-based station has swiftly established itself as a leader in radio broadcasting, not only in Uganda but across East Africa.

Departing from traditional studio-based formats, they offer an immersive and interactive audio-visual experience, captivating audiences with a fresh take on the medium.

Barbra Lynda, NRG Radio Uganda's Head of Brand, stated the award surpassed their initial expectations.

She commended the dedication of on-air talent and production crews, as well as the unwavering support of their listeners.

This recognition, she believes, affirms the station's commitment to delivering high-quality content and fostering a positive and vibrant atmosphere.

"This recognition is a testament to the hard work of everyone involved and the unwavering support of our incredible listeners. It confirms that East Africa has good taste, and we're grateful they appreciate the effort we put into delivering positive vibes," she said.

The station features a dynamic lineup of shows hosted by talented presenters who have garnered a loyal following across the region. "The Breakfast Club," "AM Show," "NRG Transit," and "NRG Circle" are just a few examples of their diverse programming.

NRG Radio Uganda also actively participates in major regional events. Their presence at renowned festivals like Nyege Nyege 2023, Davido's Timeless Concert, and The Afro DJ Fest exemplifies their commitment to a vibrant entertainment scene.

Their participation in the upcoming Victony Block Party further fuels anticipation for their continued innovation.

The East Africa Arts Entertainment Awards celebrate excellence and innovation within the region's entertainment industry.

The awards acknowledge artists and media entities across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan.

NRG Radio Uganda joins a distinguished group of awardees this year, including prominent figures like Diamond Platnumz, Nyashinski, and Sheebah.
