The next day, Radio made a few edits to Viboyo's lyrics of Nyumbani, and Jeff suggested that they go to Mugumbya to record the song.

Below are the key people involved in its creation:

  • Radio and Weasel
  • Viboyo (featuring artist)
  • Benon Mugumbya (producer)
  • Jeff Kiwa (Goodlyfe manager)
  • Aziz Azion (guitarist)
  • Bashir Lukyamuzi (video director)

All the aforementioned individuals have had a significant impact on the growth of the Ugandan music industry as we know it today.

While appearing on Vybe Life recently, Viboyo shared how Nyumbani was made.

One day, Jeff told him that he had struggled to get a good song for a while, so Goodlyfe was going to give him a collaboration.

Kiwa sold the idea to Radio, who told Viboyo to come to Nyanama, where they lived at the time, so they could start composing the song.

The next day, they met, and Radio instructed Weasel to come up with a beat while he discussed the song's direction with Viboyo.

Radio suggested that they sing about a woman who is frustrated with marriage.

On that day, he only came up with the word Nyumbani, which he repeatedly sang over the beat Weasel had created before giving it to Viboyo to add his part.

The next day, Radio made a few edits to Viboyo's lyrics, and Jeff suggested that they go to Mugumbya to record the song.

Benon initially didn't like the song.

Then Aziz Azion added the guitar rhythm to it at Jeff's suggestion.

After that, Jeff immediately told Viboyo to go and get a debt because they had made a hit.

It wasn't until some eight months later when Benon had gone with Vampino to perform in Gulu that he realised the song had become a hit there.

He immediately called Viboyo to tell him.

Benon suggested that they make a video and promised to contribute to its production.

Some four months passed, and Viboyo couldn't raise capital to contribute to the video, so he offered a printer he was using to burn CDs.

He took it on a boda to Jeff.

They then called Bashir Lukyamuzi, who ran Badi Films at the time, to make the video.

Some of the clothes Viboyo wore were given to him by Weasel.

Time passed, and Bashir couldn't be found, so they started hunting for him.

They found him locked in his house, and they sat until he finished editing it and then left it rendering.

Nyumbani would be premiered on NTV Uganda.
