Hilderman, who is the NUP’s arts shadow minister and Mawokota North Member of Parliament, took the blame for Wine's rushed speech that wasn't well furnished with details.

The lawmaker, whose real name is Hilary Kiyaga, said the controversial Shs13 billion will go towards supporting artists under the Microfinance Support Centre, and it's not going to be wired to Eddy Kenzo's bank account, nor is it exclusively for the federation of musicians that he leads.

"It's my bad that I wasn't able to advise Principal on such a serious issue because he sent me as his minister to represent the music industry and ensure that it's promoted," said Dr. Hildreman in a video seen by this reporter.

"So, don't blame Principal, blame Kiyaga. I'm guilty of not updating him about how the money was allocated. So the money is not for Eddy Kenzo or a particular group of people. It's for artistes. And as a shadow minister for arts, I've been asking the government to invest in the industry."

NUP President Bobi Wine in December faced off with Eddy Kenzo after claiming that the government had earmarked Shs30 billion for the Uganda National Musicians Federation.

Kenzo told Wine to get a research team: "Bobi needs to hire a research team that won't feed him wrong information... His party has representation in parliament and I would expect him to have accurate information... It's absurd that at his level he can still be misled."

Kenzo has previously said that his issues with Bobi Wine go back to when he was still under Firebase.
