Charles Twiine, a senior police officer with the Parliament police investigations section, has been missing since Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
Family sources, speaking to the media, said that Twiine, formerly the CID spokesperson, was last seen leaving police headquarters in Naguru after a 7am meeting with Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba.
Twiine’s car remains parked at the Naguru headquarters, but his whereabouts are unknown. On Monday, May 12, he travelled with a parliamentary committee to Mbarara but returned to Kampala on Tuesday night after being summoned for the Wednesday meeting.
His phones have been off since Wednesday afternoon.
Social media users have shared posters indicating that Charles Mansio Twiine plans to contest for Sheema North MP on the Democratic Party ticket. Police have not yet commented on his disappearance.
