The Education Service Commission (ESC) has announced an extensive recruitment drive for teaching and non-teaching staff for 91 Seed Secondary Schools across Uganda.

This initiative is part of the Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer Program (UGIFT), aimed at boosting education services nationwide

Application Process and Deadlines

According to Rev. Prof. Dr. Samuel A. Luboga, Chairperson of the ESC, the recruitment advertisement (Advert No. 4/2024) was issued on 23rd December 2024 and will close on 10th January 2025.

"The first two weeks of the advert are dedicated to enabling candidates to organise their academic documents, which they will submit between 6th and 10th January 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.," Dr Luboga explained during the media briefing at the Uganda Media Centre.

To streamline the process, schools have been grouped into ten clusters.

Each designated application centre will only receive applications for schools within its cluster.

Applicants are encouraged to use Application Form UGIFT/2/2024 and the accompanying Summary Form UGIFT/2/2024, accessible on the ESC website.

"Candidates should note that they are allowed to apply for only one post and one school of their choice," Dr Luboga emphasised.

Staffing and Eligibility

Each Seed School will receive 31 staff members, including two administrators (Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher), six non-teaching staff, and 23 teaching staff for various subjects.

The application process for administrative roles was completed online on 8th December 2024.

The recruitment is open to eligible staff within both government and private education services. Successful candidates will be required to serve at their assigned Seed School for at least five years.

Free and Fair Recruitment

Dr Luboga stressed that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge and urged the public to remain vigilant against fraud.

"The public should note that recruitment of staff in the Education Services is free of charge. Please do not be misled into paying money to anyone," he warned.
