Zani Lady C submits song for Grammy consideration

Explaining her decision, Zani noted that Charles Yimirira Awo was originally released in 1999 and only resurfaced recently. The Grammys require submissions to be recent works, making Komawo a more suitable choice for consideration.

Zani has called upon her fans to support Komawo as the journey towards Grammy recognition begins.

The nominees for various categories, including Best African Music Performance, will be announced on November 8th, 2024.

If nominated, Zani would follow in the footsteps of fellow Ugandan artist Eddy Kenzo, who was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Global Music category for his song Gimme Love featuring American singer Matt B. Kenzo lost the award to South African artists Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode for their song Bayethe.

Zani Lady C’s fans are eagerly awaiting the Grammy announcement and are rallying support for her song Komawo, available for streaming on platforms such as YouTube.
