In the video, the rider tries to fight back but is contained by Chameleone's entourage.

Social media has since been littered with various opinions about the incident from celebrities, citizens and authorities.

One of the people that reacted to the frenzy included Chameleone's wife Daniela Atim.

Atim shocked the internet when she posted about the incidence on Instagram, calling for the lashed Boda boda rider to get justice.

"Zero tolerance for violence," Atim posted Friday night, captioning an artwork that read: "Violence will not be tolerated."

This came as a strong shock to the public as it would be unfathomable for somebody's wife to suggest their own arrest.

The post, which was posted yesterday, has so far generated over 280 comments and most of them divided, as some seem to side with Chameleone while other calling for a boycott of Chameleone's concert, Gwanga Mujje.

A one JB Muwonge was quick to explain where exactly Daniela's audacity stemmed from.

"For those who are wondering the audacity, Daniella is from the North and northerners don’t pretend, bad is bad and good is good even if it’s your own who has done it," he wrote.

However, some fans sensed a but of cowardice in Daniella's post, as she did not directly mention Chameleone's name, yet the message was directed to him.

"Mention the name Jose chameleon like you had called out Weasel . No room for violence," the fan wrote.

Other fans however sensed strain in their relationship, urging her not to "hang their dirty linen" in public.

"Do not expose family troubles," the fan wrote.

One commenter said: “I am a law student and look up to you because you're constantly fighting for justice… even when you are going against your family.”

But some noted that Chameleone is a loved musician because Boda guys wouldn’t have let him attack their colleague and get away with it.

“The way fellow Boda guys were looking on and yet they are always threatening to beat us when you are a mere commoner… I bowed to the legend that guy is liked. If he was another person, boda people would have killed him,” a commenter wrote.

The Leone Island Music Empire founder hasn’t held a concert in three years, so such incidents can either ruin or make it for him. But he has a history of getting away with such incidents.

As he celebrates 25 years in the music industry, Chameleone ended his 10-year contract with events promoter Balaam Barugahara in 2021 and hired Mariam Mutakubwa, known by many as Biggie, to promote the highly-anticipated show.
