Ruhamya Kainerugaba, the son of Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has fallen victim to impersonation on X (formerly Twitter).
A fraudulent account, @ruhamya12345678, was created in February 2025 but gained activity over the weekend, shortly after pictures of President Museveni with his grandchildren, including Ruhamya, circulated online.
This weekend, Maama Janet and I had lunch with some of our children and grandchildren. In addition to holding prayers, we wished all Ugandans a happy Easter and called on everyone to work hard to chase poverty from their homes. pic.twitter.com/i0lvJXErNl

The impostor posted several messages, falsely claiming to represent the son of the CDF. However, individuals close to the Kainerugaba family swiftly informed X users that Ruhamya does not have an account on the platform.
IGNORE this FAKE ACCOUNT!!!! The leader of the next generation - Ruhamya Kainerugaba doesn't have an X account!!!!@BalaamAteenyiDr @mkainerugaba @SSssebunya pic.twitter.com/e0ZDewqyKJ

A user under the handle @MrJordanposts made it clear: “IGNORE this FAKE ACCOUNT!!!! The leader of the next generation - Ruhamya Kainerugaba doesn’t have an X account!!!!” The user also tagged both Gen. Kainerugaba and State Minister Balaam Barugahara.
The impersonation comes in the wake of social media images showing President Museveni enjoying a family lunch with his children and grandchildren, marking the Easter holiday.
In a post, President Museveni shared, “This weekend, Maama Janet and I had lunch with some of our children and grandchildren. In addition to holding prayers, we wished all Ugandans a happy Easter and called on everyone to work hard to chase poverty from their homes.”
May you live to see your children's children-peace be on Uganda. @mkainerugaba pic.twitter.com/josdiKUHJL

This incident adds to a growing list of impersonations in Uganda, with notable recent victims including Dr. Jan Mukiibi Nakitende and Buganda Kingdom Princess Sarah Katrina Mirembe Ssangalyambogo.
