Media personality Alfa Timez was seen at Next Media in Naguru, Kampala, meeting with the company’s CEO, Kin Kariisa.
This came shortly after Timez confirmed his departure from Galaxy FM and Galaxy TV, where he had built a strong presence over the past three years.
Timez announced his exit via a post on X, bidding farewell to his colleagues and fans.
He wrote, "With a thankful heart, I say goodbye to the Zzina family (@GalaxyFMUg & @GalaxyTVUg). From the radio mic to the TV screen — it’s been 3 great years of growth, fun, and connection. Thank you for walking with me... Once a muzzinyi, always a muzzinyi."
Timez didn't say much about meeting Kariisa. He only shared pictures with him which he captioned: "Next Media called... The journey continues..."
During his tenure, Timez hosted a morning show on Galaxy FM and a night and weekend show on Galaxy TV. His exit follows the departures of several notable personalities, including Prim Asiimwe, Winnie Mbabazi, and Evelyn Mic, all of whom recently left the media house.
Asiimwe and Mbabazi moved to NRG Radio, while Mic joined Nation Media, where she works with Spark TV and Dembe FM.
Timez’s move to Next Media follows the recent hiring of Haffy Powers from BBS Terefayina. Powers replaced Precious Remmie, who left the morning show on Sanyuka TV to focus on motherhood. Remmie and her husband, Raymond Bindeeba, welcomed their first child together in May 2024.
Born Hasifa Nabbanja on December 28, 1990, Powers comes from Namanve, Kiwanga village in Mukono District. The second-born in a family of four, Powers attended Kibuye Modern Parents’ School, St. Lawrence SSS Ssonde, and Kawombe Memorial School in Sseguku before earning a diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from UMCAT School of Journalism.
Prior to entering media, Powers worked in various roles, including as a waitress, a Public Relations Officer at Club Amnesia, and a customer care officer at Blue Cube. She joined Galaxy FM in February 2015.
