Uhuru appoints Raila's allies to Ambassadorial jobs

The spirit of the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga appears to be going a notch higher after two allies of the former Prime Minister were given ambassadorial jobs.

Out of eight people who were nominated to ambassadorial jobs, two of them are close political and personal friends of the Odinga family.

George Ochillo Ayacko and Peter Nicholas Oginga Ogego will now represent Kenya, once their nominations are confirmed by Parliament.

Ayacko unsuccessfully contested the Migori Governor's seat in August last year. Before that, he served as a powerful minister in the Narc government before Odinga fell out with President Mwai Kibaki.

Ogego, also served as Kenya's Ambassador to Kenya while Odinga was Prime Minister in the coalition government.

Others who were nominated to become ambassadors include ex-DCI Ndegwa Muhoro, and immediate former State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu.

Retired Lieutant General Gen Samuel Thuita, Sarah Serem, Johnson Mogo Ondieki, Chris Karumba Mburu, Benjamin Langat are also part of the proposed envoys.
