Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu is many things to many people but there is little doubt that he is one of Kenyas most resilient politicians.

Unknown to many people, Waititu joined politics in 2002 as Njiru Ward Councillor in the Embakasi constituency.
In less than two decades, Waititu has risen to become an Deputy Mayor, MP, Assistant Minister, and as Governor to one of the counties with the highest revenues in the country.
He was elected as Kabete MP in 2014, and with a 95 percent majority vote, despite not having any roots in the constituency.

He was later elected Kiambu Governor despite having been born and lived most of life in Nairobi.
