Government Official arrested after threatening to shoot Governor Nyong'o

In 2015, the official drew his gun at a funeral and shot in the air forcing mourners to flee.

Kisumu County Chief of Staff Patrick Ouya has been arrested after he allegedly verbally threatened Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyongo.

The county government official is said to have verbally threatened to shoot the Governor according to Inooro.

The Chief of Staff allegedly accosted Nyongo's security team and threatened to storm into the governors office and shoot anyone on site.

Governor Prof. Nyongo is said to have been holding a closed door meeting at the time.

This is not the first time Mr Ouya is being held over controversial altercations related to shooting.

In January, the senior county government officer was investigated by the police after he threatened to shoot Seme ODM chairman and businessman Leonard Ochar.

Mr Ochar reported the matter to the police complaining that Ouya called him and threatened to shoot him in Kisumu Town.

“He called me on his official mobile phone and started questioning why county ODM Chairman Kennedy Ajwang’ and I were ‘plotting his downfall’. He then told me that he will shoot me wherever we meet,” Mr Ochar said.

In 2015, Mr Ouya drew his gun after a disagreement ensued at a funeral in Koru and shot in the air forcing mourners to scamper for safety.
