The full list of nominees was announced on Tuesday by Ghanaian actress and TV presenter, Joselyn Dumas, and Nigerian comedian and actor, Bovi for DSTV.

Cindy is nominated in the category of Best Actress in a Drama (Movie/TV Series) for her outstanding role in the movie "Bella", which has also been nominated for "Best East African Movie".

"Bella" is about an unprivileged girl whose singing talent is easily deniable because of the way she looks.

The locally produced movie manifests a semblance of what several Ugandans go through, including discrimination of the disadvantaged.

Last year, the singer told The Observer that it was easier to blend into the Bella character because she relates to the narrative behind the story.

“Bella kind of tells my story though in a different way,” she said.

The Matt Bish directed movie stars other celebrated Ugandan actresses and actors like Base Kalema, Isaac Kudzu, former Miss Uganda Stella Nantumbwe and Matthew Nabwiso, among others.
