Former Arua Hill SC striker Alfred Leku could be destined to stay longer in Zambia after receiving offer from another club.
In a statement released by the club, Leku was released prematurely halfway the end of his one-year-contract.
“ZESCO United has mutually separated with club defender, Fackson Kapumbu. The club has further released Ugandan striker Alfred Leku and former Orlando Pirates attacking midfielder Austin Muwowo. Peter Maker Manyang, Chitiya Mususu, Rodrick Khembo are some of the players that have also left the club”.
“Meanwhile ZESCO United management has thanked the six players for their contribution towards the growth of the team”.
Prior to joining ZESCO united, Leku bagged 11 goals in 27 goals for Arua Hill and was anticipated to fill the boots of veteran striker Winston Kalengo in Zambia.
Now, sources have confirmed that Zambia's Forest Rangers FC have shown interest in signing Leku.
The forward is reportedly in talks with the club and could soon be unveiled.
