Anderson Burora, the former Deputy Resident City Commissioner for Rubaga Division, on Thursday unveiled a new pressure group that he plans to champion a fight against corruption in the ruling NRM government.

During a press conference held in Kampala, Burora expressed his concerns about the prevailing corruption issues that he believes are inadequately addressed by the current leadership.
He emphasized that the NRM traditionally claims to oppose corruption, yet issues of graft and abuse of power seem to persist unchecked under its governance.
"Our children can't continue to fail to attend school because of lack of infrastructure when leaders are sharing money meant to fund their education,” he said.
“We cannot fail to have a proper infrastructure because leaders are investing in their own hospitals and schools yet public schools and other facilities are redundant. Today we come up to say no to corruption because in the past the NRM has become synonymous with corruption yet not everyone in the party is corrupt. It is only a handful of leaders in key positions who continue to tarnish the name of the party.”

Burora has had a bone to pick with the leadership of Parliament under Speaker Anita Among, which weeks ago faced fierce corruption accusations.
After publicly attacking the speaker, Burora was summoned by the Office of the President for questioning and later interdicted pending further inquiries.
He responded by quitting the RCC’s office altogether.
The NRM-IR leader used his platform to call upon members of the NRM and the broader public to join his movement in the fight against corruption.
He specifically appealed to the youth, or 'Bazzukulu', to support this cause, asserting a need to challenge the status quo and restore integrity within the nation's leadership.
Burora also called for the resignation of the Inspector General of Government, Betty Kamya, accusing her of failing to effectively tackle corruption. He questioned her persistent complaints about corruption without taking substantial action. Similarly, he raised concerns about the auditor general's silence and possible complicity in corruption scandals, questioning the effectiveness of governmental audits and accountability mechanisms.
Further, Burora criticized the Parliament for its lack of self-audit and accountability, pointing out the irony in expecting the legislative body to oversee other departments effectively. He argued that such practices undermine the integrity of governmental oversight and contribute to a culture of impunity.
Addressing the methods of protest his group intends to employ, Burora declared that NRM-IR’s actions would not disrupt public streets but would instead focus on personal demonstrations at locations closely associated with corrupt leaders, including their homes, churches, and even during funerals.
