Perfumes and body sprays tend to be cosmetic products made from oils, herbs, and spices.

Deodorant on the other hand is an anti-microbial product. It targets the odour-causing bacteria at the source to keep you fresh for long hours.

Body sprays are used as substitutes for perfumes, they are more diluted and have less concentration of oil fragrances than perfumes. And of course, perfumes carry more fragrance oils and are more concentrated.

When deciding which option is better with deodorant, here are some things to consider.

Deodorant usually has a mild scent unlike perfume, but it still has its unique scent. When getting perfume or deodorant, choose scents that won't leave you and others gagging.

Body spray and deodorant also need to mix well, however, both have mild fragrances so they can play off each other. Because body spray wears off faster than perfume, it may be better for those hot days or any day really. This is because there's a lower risk of sweat mixing with the spray and creating a different odour.

If you don't have an issue with body odour, then you can use perfume on its own. If you have body odour issues it is better to use a mild or non-scented deodorant.

Deodorant is used under the armpits and if you add a fragrance it can undermine the deodorant's action. Use perfume and body spray on pulse points. Read here how to wear perfume.
