Having heard nothing from the House leadership, nearly a week after the appellate court delivered a judgment quashing the decision to remove him from the commission, Zaake is now pushing to be reinstated.
The MP also wants to be paid all the salary arrears from the time he was booted out of the commission in March last year.
The demands are entailed in a letter that Zaake, through his lawyers of Lukwago and Co Advocates sent out today, Tuesday, to the Parliamentary Clerk Adolf Mwesigye in which he demanded to be restored with all privileges he is entitled to “including but not limited to an official vehicle, a fuel card and monthly honoraria.”

“Restore into the parliamentary service our client's Driver and Political I Assistant whose contracts Parliament unilaterally terminated on 12th January 2023 on grounds that our client had ceased being a Commissioner of Parliament."
In January this year, the Uganda Police raided Hon Zaake home and seized the parliament-issued vehicle.
The MP was removed from the Commission, the parliament’s governing body, after he was found in breach of public trust and confidence, over the statements he made on social disparaging the Deputy Speaker, Anita Among.
Since the court ruling came out on September 28th, Parliament issued a statement acknowledging the court ruling and promised to respond in accordance with the law.
