The Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) has immediately suspended all defence and military cooperation with Germany.
Colonel Chris Magezi, the Acting Director of Defence Public Information, said the decision follows reliable intelligence that German Ambassador to Uganda, Mathias Schauer, has been involved in subversive activities within the country.
Colonel Magezi said the cooperation will stay suspended until the issue is fully resolved.
The UPDF believes the Ambassador has been working with hostile groups that act like political or military forces and oppose the Ugandan government.
