Uganda’s beloved picnic and music festival, #RoastandRhyme, is back—this time with a fresh city vibe. On Sunday, 1st June, Swangz Avenue is bringing the ultimate urban edition to the Hockey Grounds in Lugogo, offering a new setting for fans to unwind, enjoy great music, and savour delicious roasted meats.
New Location, Familiar Energy
For the first time, the event will be hosted at the Hockey Grounds, conveniently located above the Lugogo Cricket Oval and adjacent to the MTN Arena.

Access is through the National Council of Sports main gate on Coronation Avenue, Lugogo. While this venue lacks the lakeside breeze of previous editions, it makes up for it with an open, spacious urban environment perfect for dancing, relaxing, and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere that defines Roast and Rhyme.
Due to the structure of the Hockey Grounds pitch, attendees will no longer be able to bring their own grills for roasting.

However, Swangz Avenue has partnered with selected food vendors to provide an array of mouth-watering ready-to-buy roasted meats, ensuring no one’s cravings go unsatisfied as the music plays.
A Star-Studded Lineup and Ticket Info
Music lovers are in for a treat with a stellar lineup featuring Winnie Nwagi, Karole Kasita, Sama Soja, Fyno UG, Beenie Gunter, Black Wave Band, and Double Black. Swangz Avenue also promises surprise performances, elevating the entertainment further.

Tickets purchased for the previously postponed event remain valid, and as a thank-you for the patience, ticket holders will receive an additional complimentary ticket.
New tickets are available via the FlexiPay app or by dialing *291# with standard tickets priced at UGX 100,000 and VVIP tickets at UGX 200,000. Gates open at 11 am, so early arrival is encouraged to claim prime picnic spots.
