Daniella Atim believes that loving a family member is not obligatory and is teaching her children to love only those who reciprocate their love.

"I’ve often been told that if it’s family, you have to love them. But I assure you, I’m not teaching my kids the same thing," Atim, who shares five children with singer Jose Chameleone, wrote on her Instagram."If someone treats you poorly, makes you feel like an outsider, or causes you to doubt your self-worth, you are not obligated to love them. Love those who love you."

Once a reserved housewife, Atim has become increasingly vocal about family matters in recent years, often calling out her in-laws for mistreatment she experienced. She has also taken to sharing life advice aimed at empowering women and fostering self-development.

Atim, who was married to Jose Chameleone for 16 years, recently shared a list of 11 things she believes should never be said to a woman in an abusive marriage.

Her list included:

  • "It’s just a spiritual attack." (It’s not; he’s just toxic.)

  • "You’ll ruin your kids if you leave." (No, you won’t.)

  • "Did you read that book about marriage?" (Focus on the red flags instead.)

  • "Be patient." (If he does it once, he’ll do it again.)

  • "For better or worse." (Jesus doesn’t want you to suffer.)

  • "It’s just a season; things will get better." (Abuse only gets worse.)

  • "Are you desirable to him?" (You’re already doubting your worth.)

  • "How is your sex life?" (Sex is not the only important part of marriage.)

  • "What will society think?" (You mean the judgmental snobs?)

  • "You have it going well for yourself." (No, you’ve simply settled for less.)

  • "He’s just young and will mature with time." (No, he’s just an arsehole.)

Daniella Atim’s candid posts have sparked meaningful conversations about family dynamics and abusive relationships, offering a voice of support and encouragement to women navigating similar challenges.
