Arsenal to beat Man United and top tips for the weekend

Arsenal vs. Manchester United comes at a time the two sides are both in the top four.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta celebrates with goalscorer, Bukayo Saka

Arsenal are top of the log and mean business. United on the other hand might have dropped two points at Crystal Palace but they are still in a good place considering how the season started for them

Arsenal has managed to collect 47 points so far this season, only dropping seven. Erik Ten Hag’s charges are now on 39 points.

The home team go into the game as slight favourites coming off a big win in the North London Derby. 13 from 15 points available in their last five Premier League games, 11 goals scored, Arsenal will fancy their chances of picking maximum points.

For United, the 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night came with midfielder Casemiro picking a fifth yellow card to rule him out of Sunday’s tie at the Emirates Stadium. The Brazilian has made United tick since moving from Real Madrid and will be greatly missed.

With Donny Van de Beek out for the season, Scott McTominnay and Fred are the options available for the Red Devils.

Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Anthony and new signing Wout Weghorst could lead United’s search for victory on enemy territory. For Arsenal, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and captain Martin Ødegaard will lead Arteta’s and Arsenal’s search for goals.

In the last five meetings, the two sides have won twice each and drawn once. United won the first-round fixture at Old Trafford 3-1.

Both teams are in great form and we should see goals at the Emirates.

Liverpool vs Chelsea

Liverpool vs. Chelsea is a meeting of two teams struggling for form this season.

Jurgen Klopp was quick to capture Cody Gakpo in the January transfer window but that is yet to turn around the team’s fortunes.

Back-to-back defeats to Brentford and Brighton in the league have left the Anfield side in a spot of bother. After 18 games, Liverpool find themselves ninth on the log with 28 points, 19 points off the top of the table and 10 off the Champions League places.

Like Liverpool, Chelsea are a team in trouble themselves, tied on points with Klopp’s men but with an inferior goal difference and 10th on the log.

Before their 1-0 win over Fulham, the Blues had gone nine games with no victory. Jao Felix started life at Chelsea with a red card against Fulham and Graham Potter will be hoping that Ukrainian midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk will have a positive start after arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk.

There were four meetings between the two sides last season and all ended in draws.

Salernitana vs Napoli

There is a difference of 29 points between Napoli and Salernitana after 18 games of the Serie A season.

Napoli are top of the log while Salernitana lie 16th. Following an 8-2 pummelling by Atalanta, Salernitana sacked Davide Nicola and started a search for a new manager.

Two days later, the same man was appointed and will be looking to turn the team’s fortunes immediately.

A clash with Napoli, however, is not one to look forward to these days. The Partenopei have lost a single league game, to Inter this season and emphasized their title charge with a 5-1 thrashing of Juventus.

Luciano Spalletti’s troops lost to Cremonese to exit the Coppa Italia. But the target is clearly on landing the team’s first scudetto since 1990.

Napoli won both games from last season and should have an easy one this time round as well.

Barcelona vs Getafe

Barcelona are top of La Liga and high on confidence after that 3-1 win over rivals Real Madrid in the Super Cup. Xavi’s charges have collected 41 points in 16 games and conceded just six goals. They face a Getafe, currently 15th, with only one point separating them from the relegation zone.

Barcelona will be out to extend their seven-game unbeaten run.

In their previous five La Liga meeting, Barca have won four and drawn one, only conceding two goals. Getafe have lost three games and won one in their last five games. Defeat at Camp Nou will likely drag Getafe into a relegation battle.

The Catalonian club will be the overwhelming favourite on Sunday.
