At a vigil held at Lagu’s home in Bujjuuko in Wakiso district, Diana honored the deceased by performing her hit song ‘Sili Regular’ which she said was one of her wishes before she died.
“She asked me to sing Sili Regular, but I always confronted her and told her she was not going to die,” Diana told mourners, before performing the song.
Lagu, passed away Sunday night after a long battle with Kidney failure.
In her tribute, Spice Diana said she and the deceased had been there for one another.
“It is hard not to be weakened by her passing because she was the kind of person who, whenever you were being crushed by the world, was always there for you.”
“It is even harder when I look at our last texts… I know she did not want us to cry for her… she was very strong and full of hope.”
Moments before her passing on Sunday night, Diana said, Lagu had wanted to call her as she grew weaker, but decided not to, “because she did not want to disturb me.”
According to family members, Lagu collapsed suddenly after taking her shower and was rushed to Mulago Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
The celebrated artist and actress will be laid to rest tomorrow, Wednesday, September 20, at her ancestral home in Kalungu
