184 more people have tested positive for the Novel coronavirus disease, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 38, 713.

According to the Ministry of Health, the new cases are from 4, 700 samples tested in the last 24 hours, a period during which seven more patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total fatalities to 718.

In the new cases, 170 are Kenyans while 114 are foreign nationals. The youngest in the new cases is a 2-month old infant, while the oldest is 88 years old.

Nairobi County recorded 58 cases, Mombasa 22, Kisumu 20, Nakuru and Kericho 13 cases each, Trans Nzoia 8, Laikipia and Machakos 7 cases each, Uasin Gishu, Narok and Kisii 6 cases each, Kiambu and Kwale 4 cases each, Homa Bay 3, Bomet and Embu 2 cases each, while Makueni, Nandi and Siaya recorded a case each.

The 58 cases in Nairobi are distributed in Sub Counties as follows; Starehe and Westlands 7 cases each, Lang'ata 6, Embakasi Central and Makadara 5 cases each, Embakasi East 4, Dagoretti North, Kibra and Ruaraka 3 cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi North, Embakasi South, Embakasi West, Kamukunji, Kasarani and Roysambu recorded 2 cases each. Mathare recorded one case.

The Ministry of Health announced that 115 patients have recovered; 67 from the Home-Based Care program and 48 from various hospitals. Total recoveries stand at 25, 023.

Sirisia MP John Walukhe has spoken for the first time after being released from Prison on a Ksh10 million cash bail, pending the hearing and determination of an appeal of the ruling that found him guilty of graft.

Speaking in Parliament, Walukhe said that he wanted to let Kenyans and Members of parliament to know that he did not steal, and he is not a corrupt man as is thought.

“I thank all the members of this house, those who stood with me during the difficult time that I had madam speaker and I want to let Members know and the Nation that I did not steal and I’m not corrupt. Sometimes madam speaker it’s just a challenge,” said the Sirisia MP.

He went on to state that the four months he has been in jail have been full of lessons, and he has learnt a lot during his time there.

The MP mentioned that one of the things he learnt is that there are many people who are in jail without for crimes they did not commit.

“I’ve been in jail for almost 4 months and I’ve learnt a lot. It is a very big experience Madam Speaker that I’ve learnt there are prisoners in prison some who have been jailed without any mistakes,” said MP John Walukhe.

This was his first appearance in Parliament after months in jail.

John Walukhe and his co-accused Grace Wakhungu were finally granted bail by the High Court, <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/mp-john-walukhe-and-grace-wakhungu-finally-granted-bail/x8b8lml">(Ksh10 Million and Ksh20 million bail respectively)</a> pending an appeal of the ruling that found them guilty of graft.

Justice John Oyiengo of the High Court who presided over the matter ordered the two to deposit their travel documents with the court, and report to the deputy registrar once every month.

Walukhe had been sentenced to a combined 67-year jail term, or pay a fine Ksh1.04 billion while Wakhungu was sentenced to 69 years in prison or pay a fine of Ksh1.02 billion.

Economist David Ndii has called on Kenyans to stop referring to people who have completed their Primary or Secondary education, as 'school drop outs'.

In a twitter exchange seen by Pulse Live, Mr Ndii said that calling these individuals drop outs, is the language of disrespect to others.

“Stop calling people drop-outs. A person who has completed primary or secondary school is not a “drop out.” This is the language of madharau,” said Dr. Ndii.

His words came after he sent out a tweet, asking if it would be possible for the country to have a conversation on employment that is not about graduates. He noted that <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/david-ndii-has-a-clinical-record-of-mental-illness-mutahi-ngunyi/rx3xqfx">only 1 out of 10 unemployed people is a graduate</a>, and this system that was introduced by the colonialists is why Kenya lags behind economically.

A twitter user then responded saying that the problem is that primary and secondary school drop outs believe that they have failed in life, yet we have vocational training institutions for relevant technical skills that can get them employed.

The user added that Kenya still needs a good education system.

“Is it possible to have a conversation on employment that’s not about graduates? Only 1/10 unemployed is a graduate. Preservation of the colonial system of education as entitlement is why Kenya’s economic take off aborted. Successful societies focus on the bottom not the top,” tweeted David Ndii.

“I do think that's why we vocational training colleges. 1.People build houses daily -welding, masonry 2. Houses needs piping- plumping... - it's only that primary or high school dropouts do believe they have failed in life. And again, the country needs a good education system,” responded Twitter user Brian Onundo.

Jubilee Party nominated Member of Parliament David Ole Sankok has been removed from the National Cohesion and Equal Opportunity Committee, where he has been serving as a member.

His removal was announced on Tuesday, by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi following a request by the Jubilee Party’s Majority Whip.

“I wish to report to the House that my Office is in receipt of a letter dated 25th September, 2020 from the Majority Party Whip, notifying that the Jubilee Party has discharged The Hon. David Ole Sankok, MP from the select Committee on National Cohesion and Equal Opportunity, where he has been serving as member,” said Speaker Muturi.

He noted that having gone through the report on his removal, he was satisfied that <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/kenyans-react-to-moses-kurias-early-morning-tweet-on-23-gender-rule-being-a-mistake/27bc0sv">the Party followed due process.</a>

“I am satisfied that the process leading to the discharge met the requirements set out in Standing Order 176. Accordingly, the discharge of the said Member takes effect immediately,” said the Speaker.

Gospel singer Pitson has for the first time opened up on how his wife Caroline Nyokabi decided to serve him with divorce papers, over mistrust.

Speaking when they both appeared on The Murayas reality show, the singer and his wife narrated how going through his phone messages almost broke their marriage. He disclosed that they had gotten to the point that anything she did pissed him off, and everything he did pissed the wife off.

According to him, the situation escalated to the wife serving him divorce papers and that is when it dawned on him that <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/singer-ruth-matete-announces-pregnancy-with-this-cute-photo/7qhe2bk">she was very serious about divorcing him</a>.

Pitson said that the wife left and went to live with her parents, and it took him three weeks to go bring her back.

On Tuesday morning, Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria sent out a tweet saying that the two thirds gender rule was a mistake and a bad dream, that needs to be removed from the constitution.

He went on to state that the only way the current stalemate on the rule can be resolved is by changing the constitution through parliament, to have the part scrapped off as a requirement.

Kuria added that this is the reality Kenyans need to face, in dealing with the issue of the 2/3 gender rule, and they are ready to make the change as Members of Parliament.

“The only solution to the two thirds gender rule impasse is to change the constitution through parliament to remove the requirement for the two third gender rule. We are ready. It was a mistake. A bad dream. That’s the reality we need to face,” tweeted Moses Kuria.

His words were not received well by a section of Kenyans, some who went to his comment section to express their disappointments with such words coming from a leader. Others, seemed to echo his sentiments, and here are their reactions;

Kenyans react to Moses Kuria’s early morning tweet on 2/3 Gender rule being a mistake

President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced the extension of the nation-wide night curfew for a further 60 days.

In his address on Monday, the Head of State said that the curfew will begin at from 11PM to 4AM beginning on Tuesday, September 29.

President Uhuru also scrapped off the ban on sale of alcoholic drinks in ordinary restaurants and bars.

"The prohibition against the operation of bars and the prohibition against the sale of alcoholic drinks and beverages by ordinary restaurants and eateries shall stand vacated with effect from 29 September, 2020," said President Kenyatta.

He further announced that the closing time for all bars, eateries and restaurants shall be 10 PM every day, and their operations shall be in adherence to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.

In the new directives, <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/controversial-city-preacher-makes-special-request-to-uhuru-over-interfaith-group/0q3lq10">President Kenyatta</a> said that Churches will from now on be attended by one third of the total congregation from the initial 100 individuals.

Funerals and wedding ceremonies will be attended by a maximum of 200 people.

The Ministry of Health has announced 53 more Covid-19 infections, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 38, 168.

The new cases are from 1,107 samples tested in the last 24 hours. 32 of the new cases are male while 21 are females.

In the announcement, 9 more patients succumbed to the deadly virus, bringing the total fatalities to 700.

The new cases are distributed across the counties as follows: Nairobi and Meru 11 cases each, Kiambu and Uasin Gishu 6 cases each, Nakuru 4, Kajiado 3, Busia, Laikipia, Machakos 2 cases each, Makueni, Embu, Kisumu and Kwale recorded a case each.

In Nairobi, Embakasi West and Lang'ata recorded 2 cases each, Embakasi South, Kasarani, Kibra, Makadara, Roysambu, Starehe, and Westlands recorded one case each.

A rare game that has a promising future-Lulu Hassan

Ex-Papa Shirandula actress and Milele FM presenter Jacqueline Nyaminde popularly known as <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/nadia-mukami-joins-the-millionaires-club/28ldypl">Wilbroda</a>, has for the first time opened up on her relationship, with the father of her son.

According to her, everything seemed good until it got to a point where she felt like her life was in danger, because they always had heated arguments.

Speaking during an interview with Joyce Gituro, Wilbroda disclosed that she got pregnant nine months into the relationship, and she was very ready to settle down with the father of her child.

“It also didn’t take very long before I got pregnant, it took like maybe 9 months. It did not take very long and I got pregnant. I felt like this was it. I wanted to settle…” she said.

The mother of one noted that soon after she had given birth, things went south and one day, upon returning home from work, the father of her son asked her to pack her things, and leave, without their child who was very young at the time.

Wilbroda mentioned that were it not for<a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/actresses-awinja-and-wilbroda-explain-why-they-hide-their-kids-faces-from-the-public/7qkdv9h"> the late Papa Shirandula</a> whom she called as she was being told to move out, things would have been different.

Papa talked her baby daddy into giving her time to find a house, which she did while at the same time secretly buying essentials she would need, and two weeks later, she moved out with her son and house help.

“I got home from work at 4 akaniambia pack your things and go now na hauendi na mtoto na sahio ni mdogo. Actually, ule mtu alikuja akanisaidia nisitoke because nilimpigia nikilia ni late Papa. After Papa amesuluhisha ameenda, every time he would come and ask, ‘have you found a house?’ I called Papa nikamwambia nitafutie place and that is how I came to be his neighbor,” she said.

Asked whether they are in communication and if he supports his son, Wilbroda said that they talk and their communication is majorly centered around their son, but admitted that they have a lot of back and forth.

“Mara mingi tumekuwa na vurugu hap ana pale but at the end of the day mimi hujiambia Jackie huyu mtoto ni wako. So, iwe hajapatiana mimi bado ntapeana because I know the space my child owns in my heart. Everything I’m doing is for him to have a good life,” she added.

Nadia Mukami joins the Millionaires club

Singer and self-declared President of Single mothers, Akothee, has called on women to stop depending on men financially, and emotionally, because by doing that, they give away their freedom.

In a post seen by Pulse Live, the mother of five said, gone are the days when women trapped men with children.

She warned that each time a woman wakes up thinking that the man who got her pregnant should take care of her and the child, is when they begin getting themselves into<a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/a-celebrity-is-celebrated-more-when-dead-than-alive-decries-akothee/blplreh"> depression, disappointments, humiliation and pain.</a>

Akothee mentioned that this is how women lose their happiness and independence, to be forever disappointed and weak.

The Abebo hit maker called on women to instead use their energies to work on their lives and have everything in order without fearing the consequences.

She added that after doing this, the right men will come into their lives, and they should not bother with any parent who does not want to be involved their children’s life.

“If only you knew how strong you are as a woman💪, then you will get off your pity party corner and do the necessary. Gone are days when we cornered men with children, 🙆‍♂️ unfortunately, one man can impregnate 100 women in a year, and 1 woman can only get pregnant once a year 🙈. Switch TV presenter Joyce Maina has spoken after being linked by a section of gossip sites to having an affair with NTV’s DJ Mo.

While responding to the allegations on ChatSpot, the show she co-hosts on Switch TV, Ms Maina who referred to the people who peddled the rumour as sad, pathetic losers who believe anything and everything said she does not know the DJ.

The TV presenter and actress added that she likes her men chocolate and DJ Mo is light skin, as she reiterated that she values family, having been raised in a complete family.

She added that she would have no business breaking another person’s home when she is busy trying to build hers.

“First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who has had my back. There are guys who have been fighting my fight, you guys are the real ones and you know what? for every one person who hates on me, there are 10 people who love me. So, that does not affect me.

Wellness coach and radio presenter Chiki Kuruka has announced that she has parted ways with Standard Group owned radio station, Vybez Radio.

In an announcement seen by Pulse Live, Chiki who is Sauti Sol lead singer Bien Aime’s wife said that leaving the station was not an easy decision to make.

She went on to mention that for the 13 months she has worked at the station, she fell in love with the listeners <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/im-getting-high-senator-ledamas-address-from-mega-bhang-farm-excites-kenyans/gv0y8jd">and the entire Vybez Radio team.</a>

Chiki stated that she was not going to say what she will be doing next after leaving the Reggae and Dancehall station, because she wants to take some time off, and rest.

She however, mentioned that she is passionate about bridging the gap between Carribean music and African music, and also about what she sees of the future.

The wellness enthusiast hinted that she could be moving towards working with digital media, as she talked about loving how the digital space has grown, and with a smartphone one can own a media house.

WCB singer Zuchu has finally addressed the widely spread allegations of copy pasting Kenyan singer, Tanasha Donna’s lyrics in her new song Cheche featuring Diamond Platnumz.

Speaking during a recent interview with Creez Favors, the singer said that she got to learn of the claims, after a reporter who had gone to interview her mentioned it.

“I didn’t know kulikuwa na hizo claims I was very busy. Ilivyotoka Cheche ilitoka audio kwanza before video kwa hiyo nilikuwa sijui mpaka kipindi kile tunashoot nilikuwa sijui. Siku hiyo napost video, kama kesho yake alikuja dada kunihoji wa Mwanchi nadhani akaniambia umemuibia Tanasha nyimbo, and I was like nimemuibia nyimbo gani? She went on to state that when she was first given the beat that has a Hispanic music vibe, the words she is accused of copying are the first words she sang on the beat.

Zuchu insisted that she wrote the song herself, adding that she will not fight the claims but will leave it to God. She noted that there are many people who have laid claim to the song that has since been pulled down from YouTube, and she has no other explanation to give.
