Sunday Stephen has been crowned Mr. Africa International 2024.

The grand finale took place on Sunday, December 22 at Mamba Point, Lagonda, Freetown, Sierra Leone. Representing Uganda for the fourth consecutive time, Sunday’s remarkable journey to victory is a testament to his unwavering determination, passion for fitness, and dedication to modelling.

This year’s competition featured participants from 30 countries, with only 10 advancing to the final stage. Sunday Stephen, celebrated for his exceptional physique, magnetic stage presence, and intellectual depth, emerged triumphant, adding a prestigious accolade to his already stellar career in modelling.

Sunday’s rise to the top has been nothing short of inspiring. Over the years, he has consistently placed among the top five contenders, winning accolades such as the “Body of Africa” award in 2023. This year, his relentless commitment, self-funded efforts, and determination culminated in his well-deserved win.

Reflecting on his achievement, Sunday expressed his emotions: "This is a dream come true. I’ve worked so hard for this moment. Representing Uganda and Africa has always been my passion, and today, I feel like I’ve made my country proud. This victory is not just for me; it’s for every African who dares to dream big."

Sunday’s preparation for this year’s competition was entirely self-driven. Without a coach, manager, or sponsorship, he worked tirelessly to refine all aspects of his performance—physical fitness, confidence, intellect, and the ability to tackle challenging questions from the judges.

"It wasn’t easy. This journey has tested my physical and mental strength, but my love for Uganda and Africa kept me going," Sunday said. His triumph stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and passion in overcoming obstacles.

Winning Mr. Africa International 2024 represents more than personal success for Sunday; it provides a platform to showcase Africa’s rich culture, heritage, and beauty on a global stage. The title also comes with cash prizes and contracts with esteemed modelling agencies, including House of Twitch, which operates in London and Nigeria.

"This platform is bigger than me. It’s about showcasing the best of Africa to the world and inspiring young Africans to dream big, break barriers, and unite across borders," he shared. Sunday Stephen also revealed his ambition to encourage Ugandans and Africans to adopt healthier lifestyles and pursue their aspirations with determination.

Sunday’s victory is a monumental achievement for Uganda, which he lovingly refers to as the “Pearl of Africa.” By carrying the Ugandan flag on an international stage, he has solidified his position as a proud ambassador for his homeland.

"Uganda is my home, and Africa is my pride. This win is for every Ugandan and African who believes in the power of dreams. Together, we can achieve greatness," Sunday declared with heartfelt pride.
