She organised the fete together with a team of entertainment journalists and friends.

Fiina, short for Safiina, could not hold back emotions as she arrived at her mother’s home to loud cheers on Friday, May 5th, 2023, having been deceptively pulled from her work.

Speaking to reporters, Namutebi described her daughter as a beloved first born, a sister and friend.

“As many of you know, I grew up in poverty and lacked any mother or aunty for guidance. So when I had Fiina, I decided to make her the sister and friend that I missed,” she said.

Namutebi, born of Mukono district, had Fiina during her teenage years while she served as a housemaid.

On her part, Fiina thanked her mother for whom she said she was a proud daughter.

As a birthday gift, Namutebi handed out a big box containing Shs 50million in brand new 10,000 bank notes.

I give out money to lots of people in need, why wouldn’t I surprise my own child as well,’ she said when asked about the big gift.

The reporters also asked the 44 year old on whether she wished her daughter to take over her roles as a traditional leader, to which she answered in the negative.

Namutebi said traditional medicine is a personal calling, and that she wouldn’t support her Christian daughter joining in even if she wanted to.

My daughter and I are very close as mother and daughter, but in terms of Mama Fiina as a traditional doctor and my daughter as devout Christian, we are like 800miles apart,” she said.

Tradition healing is not something you just take up; if I heard right now that she opened a branch, I wouldn’t support her and I would tell you she is a fraud.”

Instead, Namutebi wants her daughter to take over her businesses when she is no longer alive; as well as some of her philanthropic works.

I have taught her business. I started teaching her business when she was in P7. Therefore, in terms of legacy, I want her to take over my businesses. I have multiple businesses; my schools and hotels where she is already serving as director."

Namutebi has made substantive investments in garment shops in downtown Kampala, Masaka and Mityana. She owns secondary schools in Mukono and Mityana, as well as real estate investments in residential and commercial property in various locations in the country.
