Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has been detained for an additional seven days, as he awaits his bail ruling, in a case where he is charged of incitement.

The new directive was given by a Nakuru court, to allow detectives to conclude investigations.

Sudi will be detained at Nakuru Central Police Station.

On Monday, the same court ordered that the Kapsaret MP be detained for two days, as he awaited to be charged.

The legislator was arraigned at a Nakuru court following a weekend where he evaded arrest, but eventually surrendered to the police.

The prosecution had requested a 14-day detention for the MP to allow for investigations while the MP's lawyers made an application for bail.

Details have emerged of how officers from the elite Presidential Escort Unit helped Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi to escape arrest when heavily armed police officers raided his home on Friday night and launched a manhunt that lasted for 48 hours.

Nation reports that three officers working with the Presidential Escort Unit moved in swiftly during the 10-hour siege and rescued Sudi, taking him into hiding.

The three who have since been identified as Simon Siengo, Issack Dida and CI Ekiru arrived in a Prado as a team led by Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Ipara and the County Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO) closed in on the embattled MP.

Quoting the police, the publication reported that “three officers from the unit came to rescue Mr Sudi from his house with a Toyota Prado and one fled with the MP while the other two stayed behind”.

It remains unclear if the three were acting on their own volition or on the orders of a high-ranking government official supported by Sudi.

Reports indicate that Simon Siengo and Issack Dida remained in Sudi’s house where they were eventually arrested while CI Ekiru fled the compound together with the MP.

Two of them (Simon Siengo and Issack Dida) have since been arrested with guns belonging to the three confiscated.

Taken into hiding

A total of 7 people were arrested during the raid, including the two officers attached to the Presidential Escort Unit who are believed to have helped the Tanga Tanga lawmaker escape.

Police were forced to shoot into the air to disperse locals who blocked roads leading to the MP’s home and threatened to shoot the police with poisoned arrows.

The operation left two people nursing injuries, among them, the MP’s guard identified as Mr Samuel Kibiwot who was reportedly shot on both his right and left shoulders.

Sudi surrendered to the police on Sunday morning after more than 24 hours in hiding during which his whereabouts remained unknown.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has finally surrendered to the police after a dramatic manhunt that saw heavily-armed police officers camp raid his home.

Sudi presented himself to the police at Langas police station in Eldoret, bringing the dramatic manhunt to an end.

Accompanied by a host of leaders including his lawyer-Uasin Gishu woman rep Gladys Shollei and Soy MP Caleb Kositany, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa among other leaders, the MP arrived at the police station shortly after 8 am.

"It was unnecessary to be treated with a lot of drama by sending contingent of police officers to my home. I was away the time police arrived at my place. Thank you all for standing with me," Sudi stated.

The lawmaker was shortly afterwards flown to Nakuru where he will be processed and arraigned in court.

Sudi’ escape and the manhunt launched by the police remains a controversial subject that has since roped in officers from the elite Presidential Escort Unit who were reportedly involved in his escape.

Three officers working with the Presidential Escort Unit who have since been identified as Simon Siengo, Issack Dida and CI Ekiru reportedly arrived in a Prado as a team led by Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Ipara and the County Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO) closed in on the embattled MP.

Sudi is a vocal supporter of DP Ruto who coincidentally, resides in Karen.

Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi is still a free man after police failed to arrest him despite having camped at his house for four hours straight.

The dramatic night at the MP's house saw a section of residents engage the police in battles as they attempted to shield the MP from getting arrested.

Video clips shared online indicated that there had been gun shots fired during the altercation between police and residents.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the MP's watchman may have been injured during the exchange.

Police would later force their way into the MP's home only to find that he was not inside.

The MP's whereabouts remained unknown at the time of going to press.

On Friday, Sudi had held a rally in Eldoret town with heavy police presence in the area where he responded to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The legislator has been the subject of news for most of the week after he made some controversial statements about former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

President Kenyatta would later respond to the insult asking the legislator to leave his mother out of their politicking.

A defiant Sudi went on to call the president his equal during the Friday rally.

"Yesterday [Thursday] President Kenyatta responded to what I had said and we are now equal. That debate will not end there but I will continue to speak out my mind just like other Kenyans should do," Sudi told Eldoret residents.

In one of the clearest indications that Deputy President William Ruto and his allies are on their way out of Jubilee party, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has spoken of a new political party in the offing.

Sudi maintained that Jubilee party is a shell of its former self, adding that it is not a must for the DP to use it in the 2022 elections.

Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has suggested that Deputy President William Ruto will run for presidency in 2022 general election on a new political party.

“Jubilee is just a political party on paper. Our party is William Ruto and William Ruto is our party (sic). It is not a must we use Jubilee Party to run for elective seats [in the next general election]. We shall form a new party and put it on paper the way we did with Jubilee,” stated Sudi.

He urged DP Ruto’s supporters not to be worried, stating that a concrete plan is in place to ensure in case of any eventuality.

The lawmaker was speaking in Eldoret today,(August 29) when he met a consortium of MCAs from Baringo, Nandi, Elgeyo-Marakwet and Uasin-Gishu counties.

“You shouldn’t be worried about the political party that we’ll use to run for elective seats on in 2022. That is a small issue,” affirmed Sudi.

His remarks come barely two days after DP Ruto confirmed that leaving Jubilee is part of the options available should peace come to shove.

Ruto stated that he will “try as much as possible to run for presidency on a Jubilee Party ticket, but if push comes to shove, he will consider other options”.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has called out Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i after two people were arrested for allegedly publishing fake news about him.

In a post on Facebook, the legislator said that CS Matiang’i should have come out to deny the claims made by the two individuals.

Sudi went on to say that he has been a victim of the fake news countless times, but he has never complained or died because of it.

He added that the two young men who were arrested in Eldoret are people who are struggling because of joblessness, as he called for their immediate release.

“I want to ask Matiang'i, you are always known as a darling to the Press, you are so good in chest thumping on cameras, was it hard for you to come out and deny that you are not sick? Why should you arrest the two young men Isaac Kibet and the disabled Emmanuel Kimutai? Some of us have gone through hell when it comes to FAKE news, we have never complained nor died because of it. Are you an angel not to tolerate fake news? You are so STUPID. The two young men were struggling to survive in an environment where you are and your bosses have plundered our economy to a level there are no jobs. They are innocent jobless youth. Release the two young men immediately. Hii inchi sio yako,” wrote Sudi.

The Kapseret MP’s remarks come hours after the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced the arrest of 33 year-old Isaac Kibet Yego; a freelance journalist and 19 year-old Emanuel Kimutai Kosgei for allegedly authoring and publishing false information about CS Matiang’i.

Celebrated media personality cum <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/nafurahi-sana-vile-ulifutwa-kazi-oscar-sudi-tells-jalango/m292ksw">comedian Felix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o </a>has revealed that plans are underway to launch his own TV station dubbed ‘Jalang’o TV’ days after exiting Milele FM.

In a video seen by Pulse Live, Jalang’o explained that he is looking forward to expand his YouTube channel into an Online TV station that will create employment opportunities to other talent youth.

“With how the YouTube Channel is growing so fast, what if we make it even Bigger. Bonga na Jalas and the interviews that I do, becomes a segment in the YouTube Channel, then from you guys who watch and you think you have talent, we can have somebody do news, sports, comedians, Reviews. So that we can create opportunity for other people who wish to have themselves on Jalang’o TV.

"So on Jalang’o TV we have interviews, sports, music, just like a TV station always run. It will be an opportunity to give so many others youth who have talent and have always wanted to showcase themselves…so we just create a Jalang’o TV and move on. Advertisers have started coming on board…if you want us to advertise something for you so that we are able to pay salaries of those who will be presenters well and good. So that Bonga na Jalas is not just about me, it’s about all of us and we create the number one Kenya Online Television on YouTube. I will give a number where you send 1-minute clip of you doing your thing and we will put it out here and we get our Jalang’o TV hosts,” announced Jalang’o.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has said that ODM leader Raila Odinga is not the cause of the rift between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto as is widely believed.

Speaking on #BongaNaJalas the legislator said that people have been blaming Odinga for it but the truth is that the much publicized friendship between President Uhuru and his Deputy was fake.

“Sio Raila, wachana na hio mnalaumu Raila kama wewe ni mbaya we ni mbaya, kama uko na mpango ingine, uko na mpango ingine. Kila kitu hapa tu ni fake hata huyu Tinga bado anaconiwa. (It’s not Raila, you are blaming him for nothing. If someone is bad he is bad and everything is fake and even Tinga is being conned),” said Oscar Sudi after he was asked who caused bad blood between Uhuru and Ruto.

The Kapseret MP went on to say that Deputy President William Ruto has not been in Government since Jubilee was elected in 2017, for their second term in office.

He pointed out that all the DP has is a name, a big office and vehicles which all come courtesy of holding the office of Deputy President.

“Mimi naongeanga ukweli kuanzia tupate 2017 hii uongozi ya pili, William Ruto hayuko kwa serikali period. Ni jina tu na magari na ofisi kwisha. Unajua ukweli ni mzuri Jalas, si nilisema mwaka jana hii urafiki ya William Ruto na Uhuru Kenyatta ni fake na niko hapo. (I’m only speaking the truth, since 2017 after re-election William Ruto has not been in Government. DP is only a name and cars and an office. Last year I said William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta’s friendship was fake, I’m still there),” said MP Sudi.

He also mentioned that if President Uhuru was genuine about unifying the country, he should have brought in all leaders across the country.

Oscar Sudi added that there is a lot of conmanship in Kenya which is what is dragging the country behind development wise.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has been summoned over controversial remarks he made touching on the peace relations between the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities living in the Rift Valley.

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) asked the MP to report at its Nairobi headquarters today Monday at 10am.

"NCIC has summoned Kapseret MP, Hon. Oscar Sudi to appear before the Commission today 15th June 2020 at 10 am for further interrogation over the utterances he made in Uasin Gishu County."

The MP drew public anger and concern after he sensationally accused a Jubilee MP of hiring the outlawed criminal group Mungiki for purposes of causing violence in the Rift Valley.

Sudi claimed members of the Mungiki sect had been hired with the intention of being deployed in Uasin Gishu and other parts of the Rift Valley that are supportive of Deputy President William Ruto.

"The same person who was distributing poisoned food has now recruited Mungiki and is planning to deploy the group to Uasin Gishu and other parts of the Rift Valley so that it can be said that Kikuyus and Kalenjins are fighting."

"I'm saying this because I want to warn my people to stay alert because God has enabled to learn of this bad plan in advance. Recently I raised the alarm that they were planning to kill the DP and that is why they did not carry out their plan. I want our people to make sure we will not be divided by politics because Rift Valley is the home of all communities," Sudi stated.

The MP said he had not reported the matter to the police, claiming the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) was biased against the Deputy President.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has claimed to know who killed former IEBC official Chris Msando.

Speaking on Saturday during a press briefing with his Nakuru Counterpart Kimani Ngujiri, the legislator also claimed that the latter was being followed.

He claimed that the current political mood is marred with threats to allies of Deputy President William Ruto.

"... it's not a joke and soon we will tell it all including those who killed Msando and others," Sudi stated.

The MP also claimed that there were plans by the DCI to arrest him and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen among others.

On his part, MP Ngujiri rebuked the current political landscape and claimed that some higher-ups are plotting for their downfall.

Ngunjiri stated that the DP is happy and they would support him as they had promised during the 2017 campaigns.

He also condemned the removal of Senator Murkomen and his Nakuru counterpart Susan Kihika from the senate leadership.

Cracks have emerged in Deputy President William Ruto's inner circle after Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi revealed how a Tanga Tanga insider betrayed the DP at the last minute.

Sudi accused Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei of betraying the DP as he sought signatures to save Senators Kipchumba Murkomen and Susan Kihika who were this week removed from the positions of Majority Leader and Majority whip respectively.

The outspoken MP made the revelations during an interview with a vernacular station, revealing that Ruto made 22 frantic calls to reach Cherargei who kept on promising he would sign the document but never showed up.

“We began looking for Cherargei so that he could come and append his signature to the letter that had been drafted by Kihika but he kept on saying he will come to where we were but to no avail. This is when I told the boss (DP) to call him. He was called 22 times but he kept on saying he is around and would come and sign,” Sudi said.

The Kapseret MP cast a spotlight on elected leaders in the Rift Valley who did not stand with the DP during the Monday and Tuesday political machinations.

Uasin Gishu Senator Margaret Kamar was also mentioned by Sudi as one of those who signed the State House document.

The Ruto team attempted to reach her so that she could sign their document but Sudi said she delayed but eventually showed up.

"We had received information that Margaret Kamar had signed the Statehouse list in endorsing West Pokot senator Samuel Poghisio to replace Murkomen but we also wanted her to sign our list. We looked for her the whole day and night, by 6am the following day, together with senators Kihika and Aaron Cheruiyot we waited for her at the parking lot. She arrived at 9am and signed the document," Sudi told Chamgei FM.

ODM Leader Raila Odinga and Kapseret Oscar Sudi on Wednesday afternoon raised a political storm after a local blogger reported that they had met at a high-end restaurant in Kilimani and made charged political discussions.

The blogger who reported the meeting claimed that the former Prime Minister had hinted at breaking the political friendship with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Immediately the alleged meeting was reported, Sudi responded by confirming that he had bumped into Odinga while he was having lunch.

The loud-mouthed MP, however, denied discussing politics saying their conversation had revolved around Odinga's grandchildren.

"Earlier today I bumped into Former PM, Raila Odinga having lunch at a popular restaurant. We had lunch together and thereafter chit chats. Raila is like a father to me. We were close buddies with his son the late Fidel Odinga. I asked him about the progress of Fidel's children and family at large. When I meet him it doesn't necessarily mean that we discuss politics," Sudi said.

Odinga's response was issued by his personal assistant, Silas Jakakimba, who said it was unimaginable that the ODM Leader would agree to an appointment with Sudi to discuss politics in a public space.

"Only an EDUCATED FOOL, not even an ORDINARY VILLAGER, can believe the tomfoolery that ODINGA can allow an appointment - with Sudi, in a restaurant. The HEIGHT OF DESPERATION in Ruto Camp is IRREDEEMABLY PATHETIC. If BUMPING into Raila makes TAKATanga afford sleep, so be it. I am under FIRM INSTRUCTIONS to so-respond to this NONSENSE ON STILTS,"

Outspoken Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has responded with anger to reports of a looming Cabinet reshuffle that will see two CSs allied to Deputy President William Ruto fired.

Sudi claimed the reports of a Cabinet reshuffle were part of a plan by President Uhuru Kenyatta to intimidate and harass public officers.

The legislator sensationally claimed that the reshuffle was targeting his Kalenjin community because of their perceived support for Ruto.

"I understand there is a looming reshuffle. I ask the President not to threaten us with a reshuffle, just let him allow us to provide him with a list of all Kalenjin professionals serving in his government for him to fire them once and for all.

"Just months ago he did a reshuffle and before public servants settle to work, they are threatened of reshuffle nonsense. Uhuru always claims "my government this, my government that"...no one is still interested in his government, let him do what he feels like doing. Kama ni lazima watu wa Bonde la Ufa waondolewe ndio hii serikali iendelee basi ni sawa hatutaki vitisho kila siku," Sudi said in a statement published on his social media pages.

Local dailies on Monday reported that the proxy wars between Kenyatta and Ruto had escalated with a Cabinet reshuffle expected to further reduce the DP's clout in government.

In President Kenyatta's first term, Ruto had a 50 percent in the sharing of Cabinet slots.

However, his grip has been reduced substantially in President Kenyatta's second term with only three CSs paying loyalty to the DP.

If the reshuffle proceeds as reported, the DP will only have one ally in the Cabinet.
