My mom doubted I could win against ‘luscious girls’ in Miss Uganda - Stella Nantumbwe

In an interview, Stella Nantumbwe, who also goes by Ellah, said that on the day of the finale, her mom spent most of the time in the bathroom worried.

Nantumbwe’s mother, Angella Nakiyonga, assured her that she had stiff competition ahead.

"These girls, I've seen them, they're so luscious,” the mother said, “I don't think you fit."

In an interview, Stella Nantumbwe, who also goes by Ellah, said that on the day of the finale, her mom spent most of the time in the bathroom worried.

Ellah was Miss Uganda 2013/14 and she said that it launched her career in the entertainment industry.

"It launched me into the Uganda entertainment scene... it is one of the best things that have happened to me,” she said. “It was such a great opportunity. I got to follow my heart and actually do good for people... it was fun. It was something that changed me... it taught me a lot."

She said through the pageant she learned how to be herself.

Ellah also represented Uganda on season nine of Big Brother Africa in 2014 and was evicted in the elimination process before the unveiling of the winner.

It was after Big Brother that she launched her acting career.

Stella Natumbwe was born to Rogers Nsereko and Angela Nakigonya in 1991 (TBC).

She grew up in Makindye and went to Nakasero Nursery, Buganda Road Primary School, Kabojja Junior School, Kabojja International School, Vienna College Namungongo and studied business computing at the University of Greenwich in the U.K.

Ellah started acting while in school. 

When she returned from the UK after university, she convinced herself to join the Miss Uganda competition in 2013, the same year that Anitah Fabiola competed.

After her term as Miss Uganda ended, she joined Big Brother Africa in 2014, after Big Brother, she started acting.
