A section of Kenyans have been angered by ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna’s statement on the way Nation Media Group’s NTV covered the Babu Owino versus DJ Evolve (Felix Orinda) case.

In a tweet, Sifuna said NTV accused the judge who gave orders baring the media, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) from speaking about the case, of indecency.

He went on to mention that because of NTV’s choice of words, the judge might recuse himself from the case, causing further delay.

“You shouldn't have to be told not to discuss merits of a case <a href="https://twitter.com/ntvkenya">@ntvkenya</a>. I watched this piece jana and you basically accused the judge of impropriety for this order "granted in darkness". You geniuses will cause the judge to recuse himself causing further delay to the case,” said Edwin Sifuna.

His words did not settle well many twitter users who then called him out, while some accused him of siding with Babu Owino (the accused) because he is a member of the ODM Party.

Anita Nderu arouses mixed reactions for hosting gays on her cooking show

Anita Nderu causes hullabaloo with a sneak peek of her cooking show as she hosts two gay men

Media Personality Anita Nderu&nbsp;caused a hullaballoo on social media after sharing a sneak peek of her hosting two gay men (Victor Maish and Romeo the Bossy) on her cooking show “The overdressed Cook”.

Ms. Nderu and her guests sexualized their conversation as they talked about pornography and other things.

In the video, a bottle of Fresh Fri cooking oil could be seen, prompting Netizens to conclude that Fresh Fri were sponsoring the show with product placement.

Following the virality of the video and the discussion around the video that bears LGBTQ members, Fresh Fri issued a statement stating that they had not engaged Ms. Nderu for any type of advertisement but thanked her for being their customer.

“Fresh Fri would like to state that we have not engaged Anita Nderu for product placement or any other advertising of any kind. However, we would like to thank her for being a Fresh Fri consumer. Fresh Fri is keen on delivering quality products that promote #HealthyLiving,”&nbsp;reads a statement from Fresh Fri.

Both&nbsp;Victor Maish and Romeo the Bossy&nbsp;have always been proud members of the LGBTQ community in Kenya.

Despite the explanation, Kenyans on Twitter found it hard to believe the Fresh Fri statement, as they went ahead to screenshot all videos from Ms. Nderu’s cooking show with the cooking oil strategically displayed.

Socialite cum lawyer&nbsp;Corazon Kwamboka&nbsp;is set to be a mom after announcing pregnancy with a cute baby bump photo as she looks forward to welcoming a new born into this world.

An excited Kwamboka, said that she is grateful and happy to be carrying another life inside her.

The bootylicious socialite also pointed out that in January last year she was almost giving up on getting pregnant based on the fact that she had been diagnosed with&nbsp;Endometriosis.

“If someone told me January last year that I’d be feeling you kick deep in my belly at the sound of your father’s voice, I’d most definitely think they were deranged! Endometriosis had crippled my dreams of birthing a child. But here we are. A pleasant and welcomed surprise. I can’t wait to meet you. Although, Ms Kwamboka didn’t reveal the name or face of the man who is responsible for the pregnancy, she mentioned that he has other kids and she likes how he takes care of them.

“To the baby’s father; I couldn’t have chosen a better person to do this with. I see the good in you and how you raise your own and I know my child will be loved ETERNALLY,”&nbsp;wrote Ms Kwamboka.

Ken Mijungu fired from NTV

NTV news anchor Ken Mijungu was among a number of employees sacked by Nation Media Group this week.

Confirming the news, Ken posted a message on social media in which he expressed bitterness over the manner in which he was let go.

The journalist stated: "7 years...summed up in a two-page letter..." indicating that the news may have taken him aback.

He, however, still expressed gratitude to his now former employer for the opportunity accorded to him during his stint at the media house.

"The axe fell @NTVnewsroom and I was on its way. 7 years in those corridors summed up in a two page letter of termination. We live to fight another day. Thanks to God, He remains the greatest, thank you @ntvkenya for the opportunity and thank you for always staying tuned,"&nbsp;he tweeted on Friday.

A few days ago, Nation Media Group (NMG) announced a re-organization that would see a good number of journalists fired.

Jalang’o pens down emotional message to fans as he addresses comedians and artistes deaths

Comedian and radio presenter&nbsp;Felix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o&nbsp;has penned down an emotional appeal to fans and comedians, as he addressed the issue of the increased comedian and artiste deaths in the country.

In a long post,&nbsp;Heavy J Baba called on fans not to assume that they are rich, just because they see them (comedians) on TV and they should stop judging them because they are normal people.

He went on to mention that the judging and setting standards for these comedians is what drives them into depression because fans have set standards for them, which they cannot meet.

Jalang’o’s words come days after the death of Churchill show comedian Kasee, who is reported to have passed on while on his way home. Other reports said the comedian might have fallen into depression.

Jalas as he is known by others told artistes and comedians that success takes time and they must be patient to get to where those who have made it are.

He used himself as an example, stating that he started his career back in 2005 at the Kenya National Theatre (KNT), and asked them to trust the process.

He also asked the comedians to reach out to them whenever they have challenges, as he reminded them that alcohol and drugs only takes away their problems for a short time.

DJ Evolve speaks out for the first time

On, Monday emotions ran high as&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/video-of-dj-evolve-being-discharged-from-hospital-surfaces-online/c14vspe">Felix Orinda popularly known as DJ Evolve&nbsp;</a>narrated his pain and struggles for the first time since being discharged from Hospital.

Speaking to&nbsp;NTV,&nbsp;DJ Evolve who is currently numb from his mid-torso downwards, disclosed that he cannot do anything for himself, and fully depends on other people to do things for him.

In the interview, Orinda struggled with speech due to a tube that has been attached to his neck to help sanction and clear his air way.

"I’m Okay generally, I’m doing better as opposed to when it first happened. I was really traumatized at the beginning but I learnt to live with it. At least nowadays I can be able to sleep, but before I couldn’t sleep at all, I kept having flash backs of the fateful day. I needed medication to put me to sleep,"&nbsp;said DJ Evolve.

Evolve who is recuperating at home, mentioned that his health is slowly improving as he can now move his hands a bit, something that was not possible before.

“I’m slightly able to move my limbs (Hands), that’s the much I can do, but I can’t be able to move my arms. Not really, because these were my tools of trade, so when I don’t have them there is no way I can be able to work. But generally, looking at it, its better because I can move them, but before I couldn’t do that. I’m currently …just here. There is nothing I do for myself, so I’m fully dependent on people do to things for me," narrated DJ Evolve.

Asked whether he has forgiven the person who shot him, DJ Evolve said;

“I left that to God and I’m waiting for the justice system to see what will go through. But aside from that, I don’t have anything else to say.”

Andrew Kibe quits Kiss 100

Kiss 100 presenter Andrew Kibe has announced that he has parted ways with the station&nbsp;about a year after joining the Radio Africa Group owned radio station.

In a tweet, the controversial radio host said that it has been a good run, and he will miss working with his co-host&nbsp;Kamene Goro, with whom they co-hosted the Kiss Breakfast every morning.

“It's been real watu nguyas. I will miss all your nonsense in the morning especially&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/KameneGoro/">@KameneGoro</a>&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/Kiss100kenya/">@Kiss100kenya</a>&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23KameneAndKibe">#KameneAndKibe</a>,” tweeted Kibe.

He however, did not divulge further into why he was leaving the station and where he is heading to next.

Kamene Goro with whom they co-hosted the Kiss Breakfast together responded to Kibe’s tweet with the following words, “Si poa......”

Kibe’s departure came a few days after comedian and radio presenter&nbsp;Jalang’o&nbsp;hinted that he will be heading back to Radio Africa Group, where he started his radio career.

On the other hand, DJ Evolve’s mother said that she has been in hospital with her son since January 17th, 2020, something that stopped all her other activities.

“Tangu 17th January, kila kitu ilisimama upande wangu, coz singefanya chochote na mtoto wangu ako hivi. Niko tu na yeye always since January. Amekuwa hospitali kwa miezi sita, kama mtu anaweza sema ati mimi ndo nilisema atolewe, mimi sio daktari, nijue kama Mgonjwa ametosha kwenda nyumbani ama bado anaffaa akae Hospitali. Niliona kwa gazeti na nilikuwa shocked, sijawahi ongea na mtu yeyote wa media, so hizo reports waliandika juu yangu as a mother, sijui pahali walitoa. Mimi concentration yangu ni kwa huyu kijana apone."

<a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/dj-evolve-speaks-for-the-first-time-on-the-shooting-incident-at-b-club-involving/3xx06d7">Mama Evolve added</a> that the hospital bill was over Sh17 million and MP Babu Owino had paid Sh7 Million but had an agreement with the Hospital that will see him (Babu) clear the whole Bill.

Asked on what she expects for the Courts, Orinda’s mother said “Justice for my kid, only that. Ile Machungu ni nayo siwezi ongea mimi huwa tu naongea na Mungu wangu, because naona kama maisha ya mtoto wangu imeharibiwa.”

After the DJ Evolve interview aired, Kenyans took to social media under the tag #DJEvolveSpeaks demanding justice for the DJ who is now recuperating at home. Many urged that MP Babu Owino who allegedly shot the DJ is walking scot-free yet Orinda can’t even move on his own.

Prezzo talks about depression and joining Mungiki

Veteran&nbsp;Rapper Jackson Makini Ng’echu aka Prezzo&nbsp;has shared a little known details about his life, disclosing that there is a time he was depressed and forced to stay indoors for a whole year and later on joined Mungiki under the leadership of Maina Njenga.

Speaking to CTA, CMB Prezzo said that after his wedding with Daisy (Mama Zari) in 2008, he had tough choices to make because his then wife loved Nge’chu but hated Prezzo.

He further explained that, a few years into the marriage he had to choose music over his wife and moved out, but his life started moving downhill, as he slowly fell into depression.

“At that time Daisy Mama Zari, loved Ng’echu but hated Prezzo and wanted me to stop doing music and probably be an accountant or a teacher somewhere, a carpenter…anything but not music. And I was like I spent so much time building this brand and I’m not gonna just leave it like that. So from that point on wards, I left them with that Mansion that I was living in and I took another penthouse. So for also most a year I lost myself. For one year, I used to have my bodyguard bringing me food, bringing me whatever I need in the house, I never left the house for a whole year. I was like I was in a house arrest and slowly getting into depression,”&nbsp;says Prezzo.

A year later, Prezzo got an invite to meet with Maina Njenga&nbsp;and given a chance to join Mungiki as Youth leader and he said yes to the offer.

“So we went to Karen and Maina Njenga had this movement and he needed me to be like Youth leader of the Mungikis and who am I to say No. So he gave me responsibilities and I was in the whole Nine years,”&nbsp;posed Prezzo.

DJ Evolve discharged from Hospital

A video believed to be that of&nbsp;Felix Orinda aka DJ Evolve&nbsp;being discharged from Hospital has surfaced online.

A one minute clip that was first shared on Instagram by a local blog, showed Evolve lying on a bed inside an Ambulance ready to be taken home.

Reports said that Evolve will continue recuperating at home, despite the fact that he is still unable to walk on his own.

Currently, he is able to talk but in low tones and the Hospital also provided him with an adjustable bed to aid him in his recovery journey while at Home.

This comes a few days after DJ Evolve’s employer B-club&nbsp;sought to clarify that the Disk Jockey was still admitted in hospital, after their Instagram post caused confusion, leading to a number of publications to report that he had been discharged.

B-Club explained that their post was meant to keep Evolves career relevant and remind his fans that he is still fighting on.

“Hello Please DJ Evolve is still in Hospital. Our Post was to Re-introduce DJ evolve and keep his career relevant to others, so that his fans don’t forget him. Thank You,”&nbsp;read the message.

The DJ was hospitalized early this year after he was allegedly shot by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz’s mother Mama Dangote was forced to explain herself after referring to Diamond and Tanasha Donna’s son Naseeb Junior as&nbsp;Kichwa Kikubwa.

Mama Dangote made the remarks after her daughter Esma Platnumz shared Junior’s photo which she captioned with&nbsp;words saying that she misses him.

“I miss you Tom Kaka 😘😍,” wrote Esma, to which Mama Dangote responded with the words, “KICHWA KIKUBWA.”

Her words did not settle well with some of her followers who felt she was abusing an innocent kid because of differences she has with the mother (Tanasha Donna).

Mama Dangote then responded explaining that she is used to calling Naseeb Junior by that name (Kichwa Kikubwa) and that it’s a name she used to call his father (Diamond Platnumz) when he was a kid,&nbsp;and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Atlanta based Tanzanian singer&nbsp;Vanessa Mdee disclosed that she is on a new journey to rediscover herself and fans will not be hearing from her musically anytime soon.

In a 29 minutes talk on her on Podcast&nbsp;"Deep Dive with Vanessa Mdee", the singer explained that she made the decision to leave the music industry because it’s very demonic.

Vee Money further stated that she is on a mission to be an advocate for honesty, beauty and what facing your demons can do for you.

Owino put out a tweet, stating that in politics negative publicity is extremely good publicity, hinting that what was being propelled about him was just publicity.

On Wednesday, Kenyans On Twitter were pushing the tag #JusticeforDJEvolve who was allegedly shot by the MP early this year.

Justice for DJ Evolve

The DJ Evolve incident has been haunting the Politician for months now, with questions around his Hospital bill and how the DJ is fairing on from his hospital Bed.

The #JusticeforDJEvolve hashtag became a topic of discussion on Twitter after a number of Kenyans joined the world in calling for justice for George Floyd who died in the hands of Minneapolis police.

Just the other day, DJ Evolve’s employer B-club&nbsp;said that the Disk Jockey is still admitted in hospital, despite being moved from the ICU Ward to the normal ward.

In an interview with Jalang’o, Babu mentioned that the only things delaying Evolve’s discharge is the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Babu replied; “Yes I I’m doing that. I’m the one who is paying the bills, in fact as we speak DJ Evolve has been discharged, he is just awaiting to be taken home. From the ICU to the ward, from the ward then home. The reason why he has not been taken home is because of the Corona situation, that’s what the parents are working on.”

“Have you been talking to his family?" questioned Jalang’o.

“We are in communication. And what I must say is that there is not saint without a past. Two, I would not like to dwell on my past so much, because I can’t change my past, but I can change my future. Every other thing that happened is between me and God, and I choose to forgive myself. This matter is before a Court of law, so as Babu Owino on Humanitarian or morals grounds, I did agree to settle the bill, so I settled the bills just as a friend. He is very good friend of mine and no man or woman should come between us. Everybody has their issues, and no man is righteous before God. Let no man , let no woman judge me, I will not take it lightly,” said Babu Owino.

In an exchange seen by Pulse Live, the fan identified as Kimanthi had asked, "How is the man you attempted to kill?"

The exchange came shortly after Babu in a statement said that he was fully in support of Government's measures put in place in a bid to curb the spread of Coronavirus.

In the statement, he also assured of his support to his constituents noting that he had learnt of an individual who had visited Utawala from Rome and had tested positive for COVID-19.

“The COVID - 19 disease has brought not just the threat of the death but it has also brought anxiety about where many of us will get our next meal from. Babu was a few months ago arrested and charged for the attempted murder of DJ Evolve after allegedly shooting him on the neck following a misunderstanding at a popular city club.

He was later on released on bail and Evolve is still undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has gotten a relief after he won an application to have his cash bail reduced in a case where he is charged with attempted murder of city deejay popularly known as DJ Evolve.

Babu's cash bail was reviewed downwards from Sh10m to Sh5m after he appealed a previous ruling by the magistrate's court.

Justice Kimaru further ruled that Babu would not be compelled to pay the deejay's medical bill - instead ruling that the MP was free to do so as a moral obligation.

In a highly criticized ruling, Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi had directed the Embaksi East MP's Sh10 million bail would be paid in four installments of Ksh.2.5 million for the next four months.

Andayi added that the legislator would be released&nbsp;after paying the first installment of Sh.2.5 million which would be used to pay for Dj Evolve's medical bill.

Embakasi East legislator Babu Owino has responded to claims that he has abandoned the family of DJ Evolve (Felix Orinda) who he allegedly shot at B Club with the hospital bill crossing the Sh 7 million mark.

Multiple news outlets covered the story, questioning where the lawmaker who faithfully sorted the bills in initial periods disappeared to, prompting a response from the vocal MP.

Through&nbsp;his lawyers, Okatch and Partners Advocates, the lawmaker dismissed claims that he had abandoned the family, stating that he has been making bail payments as ordered by the courts and as such he is not to blame for the balooning bill.

The statement read in part that "Unfortunately, the court orders indicated that these monies were to be paid directly to the honourable courts which would then facilitate the release of funds, on a monthly basis to Nairobi Hospital where the victim is hospitalized.

"This essentially means that our client has no control of the funds once he has deposited the same from the courts".

Owino also took issues with Nation Media Group’s NTV which he accused of biased coverage of the matter without caring to hear from all parties concerned.

"The news item published by yourselves on February 20, 2020, with regards to this matter has elicited a lot of concern and emotions from the public. The said story, as ran by your television station, was not accurate, truthful and indeed at no given point was our client or the honourable courts consulted.

"If indeed our clients and the honourable courts were consulted, then it would have been easy to establish for a fact that our client has, up to date, paid a total of Ksh5 million which principally is channeled towards treatment of the victim," added&nbsp;the statement.
