The couple was reportedly having a good time at Avenue lodge in Arua City when the incident happened.
The Kampala Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, said the girlfriend reported the matter to the Police and his body was moved from the lodge at 9pm for post-mortem analysis.
Onyango said it was established that Mustafa developed respiratory failure while making love to his girlfriend, and that no drugs or any other substance that could cause death was found in his system.
“Mustafa’s body was moved from the lodge at 9pm on Saturday night. It was however established that he developed respiratory failure while making love with his girlfriend. No drugs or any other substance that would cause death was found in his system,” Onyango told journalists during the Police weekly security briefing at their headquarters in Naguru.
He said the girlfriend Adanai has since been freed from custody after it was established that there was no wrongdoing on her side.
“A person dying while making love is not something new. Police established that the girlfriend had nothing to do with Mustafa’s death and has since been freed from custody,” Onyango said.
According to bigthink.com, an online health awareness portal, death while making love can be caused by the physical strain of the activity, prescription drugs (drugs to treat erectile dysfunction, for example), or illegal drugs, such as cocaine – or both.
The portal also reveals that at times it comes as a result of one’s unhealthy respiratory system.
