Coca-Cola has brought back its iconic “Share a Coke” campaign, inviting a new generation to connect through personalised experiences.
Initially launched in 2011, the campaign allowed consumers to find their name on a Coca-Cola bottle, a first-of-its-kind marketing move that revolutionised personalisation in the beverage industry.
Now, the brand has returned to celebrate the joy of friendship and the power of sharing a Coke with loved ones.
This time, Coca-Cola is expanding its customisation platform, giving consumers more name options and the ability to add their own personal touch.
Embracing Authenticity in the Digital AgeAs research shows that 72% of Gen Z seek authenticity in their interactions, Coca-Cola’s “Share a Coke” offers a tangible way for individuals to express care. In an era where online connections can sometimes feel fleeting, this simple yet meaningful gesture helps to create lasting memories.
If your name is not available on a bottle, simply scan the QR code on the bottle, which leads to the “Share a Coke” digital hub. There, users can create their own digital bottle and share it with friends, family, and loved ones, further deepening personal connections.

Celebrating Friendships and Togetherness
In Uganda, the relaunch of “Share a Coke” was celebrated with an unforgettable event at Makerere University Business School (MUBS). The event featured a Cultural Gala showcasing East African culture, including fashion, music, and art, as well as live performances by local artists and DJs.
Attendees also enjoyed immersive experiential areas that encouraged genuine connections. Vivienne Olenyo, Manager of Frontline Marketing in Uganda, emphasised the importance of real-life interactions in an increasingly digital world.

"Share a Coke reminds us that some of life’s most memorable moments are created when we come together, sharing laughter, stories, and authentic connections," she said.
From mid-April 2025, personalised Coca-Cola bottles will be available in stores, giving everyone the chance to share the magic with their friends.
