Nigerians came out in huge numbers to celebrate and commend media personality <a data-link-role-code="none" href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/amina-abdi-becomes-the-first-east-african-to-host-africa-magic-viewers-choice-awards/bhexx5g">Amina Abdi Rabar</a> for hosting exceptionally well at the 7th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCAs), that went down on 14th March at Eko Hotel in Lagos Nigeria.

Amina was the co-host at the event , the main host being Nigerian radio personality IK Osakioduwa.

Fans commended the two for doing a great work, having a good chemistry and for making the event lively. They complimented Ms Amina's dressing, beauty, intellectual prowess, confidence, great sense of humor and for spelling names correctly.

They disclosed that they were satisfied with the good job she and IK Osakioduwa did.

The elated beauty took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the opportunity she was given to host the show and thanked Nigerians for their kindness and hospitality.

Kenyan Movie <a data-link-role-code="none" href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/kenyan-movie-plan-b-wins-best-east-african-movie-award-at-amvcas/nkq6vrz">Plan B</a>, a romantic comedy film that was released in February 2019 also won the Best East African movie Award.

Kenyan Movie Plan B, a romantic comedy film that was released in February 2019 won the Best East African movie Award at the <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/pascal-tokodi-wins-best-supporting-actor-at-africa-magic-viewers-choice-awards/sk5sh4x">Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCAs),</a> that went down at Eko Hotel in Lagos Nigeria.

The film which revolves around Lisa (Sarah Hassan) who finds out she is pregnant after a drunken one night stand with Dele ( Daniel Ettim) following a nasty break up with boyfriend, beat all other movies that were nominated in the same category.

The other films were; Lost in Time (Edijoe mwaniki), Disconnect (Iman Mueke) and 94 Terror (Mulinwa Richard).

Celebrated actor Catherine Kamau popularly known as <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/kate-actress-flaunts-her-curvy-body-on-instagram-as-she-turns-33/7tf5mlf">Kate actress</a> who also featured in the film revealed that she loved playing Joyce in the movie and asked fans to disturb Lowla Dee for a part two of the movie.

Kenyan Movie Plan B wins big in Nigeria

God commanded us to be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth and our celebrities did a perfect job at fulfilling this commandment.&nbsp;

2019 saw celebrities like Diana Marua, Kambua, Size 8, Isabella Kituri, Milly wa Jesus, and Tanasha Donna welcome newborns into their family.&nbsp;

And since baby showers and gender reveal parties have become the social trend, some celebrities went ahead to plan exquisite baby showers while others preferred not to have one.&nbsp;

While some loathe baby showers and deem them unnecessary, especially because of the expenses, others love them since they are considered as a rite of passage for every woman on the journey to motherhood.

Here are some of the lavish, unforgettable celebrity baby showers that we witnessed in 2019.

WCB boss, Diamond Platnumz and his girlfriend Tanasha Donna held a glamorous, expensive baby shower that was the talk of the town in August. The white and blue themed baby shower that was held in Best western Coral Beach Hotel in Dar es Salaam was attended by the high and mighty in the entertainment industry.

The décor was made of cute baby stuff such as baby clothes and teddy bears to celebrate the upcoming birth of Tanasha.

The glammed-up event was the most talked about celebrity baby showers in 2019 since it was the first baby shower that Chibu Dangote had ever thrown for his baby mamas.&nbsp;&nbsp;

They later welcomed baby Naseeb junior, on October 2nd who enjoys a following of over 117k on Instagram.

Gospel Singer Kevin Bahati, popularly known as Bahati, treated his wife Diana Marua to a lavish baby shower on August 4th that cost an arm and leg.

The white and gold themed event was an invite only occasion that saw close friends of the Bahati’s and family members attend the event.

The expensive baby shower that also doubled up as a gender reveal party was one of a kind as it was characterized by pomp and glamour. You could tell that the couple has a fine taste for things judging from the venue (Sovereign Suites Hotel) the décor, the set up and the delicacies.&nbsp;

The baby shower was estimated to have cost close to a million shillings.&nbsp;

In August, the couple welcomed their second born, Majesty Bahati.&nbsp;

Gospel singer Linet Munyali popularly known as Size 8 was treated to a surprise baby shower on October 28th by close friends and relatives.&nbsp;

The mateke hit maker, who was expecting her second baby, was treated to an all-white surprise baby shower that was led by her sister, Mary Munyali and Singer Wahu.

The lavish baby shower saw her get emotional as she broke down in tears. She later explained the ‘tears were a sign of a brand-new thing that God was birthing in her life’.&nbsp;

The baby shower was an exciting beautiful ceremony that saw her and her friends celebrate her milestone. The singer termed the pregnancy as a miracle and encouraged women not to give up in their pregnancy struggles.

In December 2018, Size 8, suffered a miscarriage, an unfortunate incident that took a toll on their family.&nbsp;

The singer and her husband Dj Mo welcomed a baby boy in November, a pregnancy that saw her hospitalized.&nbsp;

Milly wa Jesus, wife to Kabi wa Jesus, was also showered with a surprise baby shower ahead of her delivery date.&nbsp;

The black and yellow themed baby shower that was put together by her close friends was held in September at the Ridgeways Leisure Garden in Nairobi.&nbsp;

In August, the couple had held a gender reveal party that was graced by the likes of Diana Marua, Bahati, Simon Kabu, Sarah Kabu and other friends and family members.

The lovebirds who make marriage love look like a bed of roses, welcomed a bouncing baby boy on October 10th.&nbsp;

In February, Mr Seed’s fiancé Nimo Gachuiri, was treated to a surprise baby shower that was organized by her close friends and lover.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Gold and black themed baby shower was held at Ridgeways Inn along Kiambu Road that saw invited close friends and family members attend the occasion.

In the fun filled party Nimo stepped out in a black and Gold outfit as her friends wore black dresses. She was treated to a special buffet, cake cutting and fun games that made the celebration lively.&nbsp;

Something that caught the attention of their fans was the fact that Bahati and his wife, Diana Marua were not present at the celebration, confirming bad blood between the two.

They lovely couple welcomed their baby boy on March whom they named Gold Christen.

In March, actress Sarah Hassan was treated to a surprise baby shower by her close friends and family at an undisclosed location.

Media personality, Anita Nderu was among the attendees, and she couldn’t hide her excitement of becoming an aunt.&nbsp;

Before the beauty went public with her baby bump, she had kept the pregnancy a secret.&nbsp;Sarah and her husband Dale tied the knot in February 2017 in a private wedding ceremony with close friends and family.

The couple welcomed their first child, baby Dale in June.&nbsp;

Isabella Kituri’s friends at K24 threw her a lavish baby shower as she was preparing for another addition in her family.&nbsp;

The yellow themed event saw the lovely Isabella, step out in a beautiful red dress as her friends also came out dressed elegantly.&nbsp;

The surprise baby shower left the beauty speechless as she wasn’t expecting her colleagues to pull such a move on her. The beauty had a reason to celebrate after the demise of her husband who died when she was just 25 years old, a year after their marriage.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was blessed with a baby girl in June.

The Kenya Film Commission has announced its nominees for the 9th annual edition of the Kalasha TV &amp; Film awards 2019.

The nominees were unveiled at a ceremony which took place at the Imax 20th Century Cinema on 1st November. The event which celebrates exceptional talent in Film and TV industry in Kenya will be held on Saturday 30th November.

Kalasha Awards 2019 has 17 Film categories, 9 TV categories and 5 Special Awards categories. Among these are two new categories: Best TV Reality and Best Student Short film.

The Judges for Kalasha 2019 include: Linda Karuru, a leading producer in TV and Film industry, TV and Film Producer Fred Makori, Dr Racheal Diang’a a film professor at USIU, TV &amp; Film Producer Irene Mukonyoro, Film Producer director and script writer Kang’ethe Mungai, Actress &amp; Voice Over Artist Irene Kariuki, Game Designer And Animator Dennis Mbuthia and Dr Simon Peter, a scholar in performing arts and film studies from the University of Leeds.

Some of the nominees include; Pascal Tokodi, Joyce Omondi, Amina Rabar, Brenda Wairimu, Nick Mutuma, Neomi Nganga, Catherine Kamau, Brenda Wairimu, Sarah Hassan and Eve D'Souza among others.

The best feature film category comprises of Sarah Hassan (Plan B), Apple Matere (Dream Child), Nick Mutuma (You again), Edijoe Mwaniki (Lost in time), Njoki Muhoho (Ensulo), Slobhaina Wilson (Lusala), Dancurf Brown (poker) and Njoki Muhoho (Promises).

In the best supporting actress category, we have Neomi Ng’anga (You again), Catherine Kamau (Plan B ), Mkamzee Mwatela (Lusala), Breanda Wairimu (Best Friends Forever) and Laureen Ndesandjo (Naahidi).

Best Lead actor in film Martuin Githinji (Best friends forever), Nick Mutuma (You again), Joe Kinyua (The whistle blower), Brian Ogola (Lusala) and George Mo (Lost in time).

Here are the nominees In the Best TV Drama: The wives (Benjamin Onyango/ H.G. Wells), Selina (Reuben Odanga), Monka (Scolly Odange), Pete (Daudi Otieno) and Ithaga Riene (Roselyne Wanjiku).

Amina Abdi Rabar who hosts The Turn up has been nominated as the best host in TV Show alongside Kush tracey (chat spot), Jeff Koinange (The xyz show), Mwaniki Mageria (Foods of Kenya), Joyce Omondi (Full circle).

Nominees in the Best Tv Comedy include; Njoro wa uba (Lucyb Mwangi), Nyanya Rukia (Daudi Otieno), Baba Yao (Kimathi Iceberg), Varshita (Lucy Mwangi) and Vioja Mahakamani (Ndavula Emmanuel).

Pascal Tokodi of Selina has been nominated in the Best Lead Actor in TV drama alongside; Maqbul Mohammed (Varshita). Benjamin Onyango (The wives), Joe Kinyua (Njoro wa Uba) and Leon Ongaya (pete).

Eve D’Souza of Varshita has also been nominated in the Best performance in TV comedy alongside Zulekha (Vioja Mahakamani), Kierran Ratanya (Baba yao), Peter Sankale (Hullabaloo Estate), and Kazungu Fahamu (Nyanya Rukia).

Our perfect wedding (Eugene Mbugu) and Ms. President (Isabel Munyua) have also been nominated as the Best TV reality.
