The 7 professionals in U20 team including Tottenham and Rangers FC stars

Other than Bebe Cool and Moses Magogo’s sons, there are seven professionals, Ugandan teenagers playing abroad summoned for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations.

U20 professionals

Uganda Cranes legend and coach of the U20 team, Jackson Mayanja summoned a total of 50 players for the residential camp and will face the daunting task of trimming his squad by half.

Speaking at the announcement of the provisional squad, U20 team coach Jackson Mayanja noted that the camp will be competitive as selection will be based on merit.

"We are going to use this time to fully assess and examine the players and all decisions we shall make will be based on merit, meaning players must work hard to prove the technical team," he noted.

Christian Mulindwa (Rangers FC)

Midfielder Christian Mulindwa features for Rangers FC in its youth ranks as an investment for the future. Mulindwa joined Rangers from the Cre8tive Football Academy and has been described as a 17-year-old midfielder who is good with both feet.

Kato Shaun Senkubuge (Tottenham Hotspur FC)

Son of former KCCA FC defender Moses Senkubuge, Kato Shaun Senkubuge based in London features for Tottenham Hotspur FC. At just 18-years, he attracted a transfer fee of £60,000 (Shs297m) from Cambridge to the North London who have since extended their contract offer hailing him as a star for the future.

Ibrahim Juma (FC Leganes, Spain)

Ibrahim Juma joined Club Deportivo Leganes that competes in the Segunda division, the second-tier Spanish league competition.

Juma recently featured for the Uganda Cranes in the CHAN qualifiers first leg against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.

The left back also was the captain of the KCCA FC U20 side that won the inaugural edition of the Cambiasso Rainbow U20 tournament in Tanzania.

Enyou Allan (Elite Falcons FC, Dubai)

Just last year, Allan Enyou, was a senior four student at Dynamic Secondary School in Sonde . KCCA FC then handed him a signed a long-term contract that ties him to the club till 2027.

He now features for Elite Falcons FC in Dubai.

According to KCCA FC, Enyou is a “budding center-half who plays on the left side of the defense in a back three and can also thrive in a back four”.

He previously featured for Maroons FC Junior team in the FUFA Junior’s League.

Kitariko Kiano (Kedleston Road, Derby campus, UK)

He started his career at Rising Stars Soccer Academy, featuring from 2015-2018 before he joined Elite Football Academy the following year.

Two years later, he joined Kings College Taunton Somerset in the United Kingdom which he played for till 2021.

Kitariko has since joined the University of Derby in England.

Mugulusi Isma (Makedonikos FC, Greece)

Former SC Villa midfielder Isma Mugulusi joined Makedonikos in Greece last year. Following his transfer from Busoga United to SC Villa, Mugulusi was side-lined by injury and could not be feature. He only made his return for the Uganda Cranes in the CHAN qualifiers against Tanzania. He is the captain of the U20 team.

The other professional is Jemba AbduShakur Ramsey who plies his trade at International House Football Academy, Manchester.

The U20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2023 will be played between 19 February and 11 March 2023.
