The final rites for Rajiv Ruparelia took place today as his cremated remains were laid to rest in Lake Victoria.
Family members, including his father Sudhir Ruparelia, mother Jyotsna, and sisters Meera and Sheena, attended the event.
Footage and photos shared online show a quiet and solemn gathering.
Rajiv, 35, died last weekend in a tragic accident on the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway. His cremation happened on May 6 at the Hindu crematorium in Lugogo.
At the ceremony, Sudhir Ruparelia paid tribute to his son, recalling happy memories and his kind nature. He also urged Rajiv’s friends to keep his spirit alive, especially through acts of charity.

Sudhir grew emotional as he spoke about how he had warned his son about the risks of race car driving, a hobby he had recently taken up.
One of Rajiv’s close friends, Jonathan Bahizi Buteera, spoke of his late friend’s vibrant energy.
“I’ve never met anyone quite like you,” he said. “You brought flair, passion, and unforgettable drama into every moment. You made the everyday feel special.”
Rajiv leaves behind his wife, Naiya Ruparelia, and their daughter, Inara.
