On Wednesday, May 14, Ugandan music star Bebe Cool handed over a new home to six-year-old Bridgette Mirembe in Mubende.
The Shs100 million house, built over four months, brings hope to a family once stuck in a broken-down semi-detached home Bridgette called “geyeena”, Luganda for hell.
Bridgette’s mother, Agaati Gowa, said life had been hard before the gift.
“For a long time, we had nothing,” she told guests at the handover. “I used to wake up and wonder if we would ever sleep in a proper house. People doubted Bebe Cool. They said he was just talking. But look at what he’s done for us.”
The event drew wide praise. Pastor Everest Arinaitwe of Prayer Valley Ministry said Bebe Cool’s act brought hope to the whole village.
“He has given Bridgette shelter, but more than that, he has restored our faith in kindness. We feel seen,” he said.
On X this morning, Bebe Cool shared his joy with fans.
“Yesterday, May 14, 2025, with the help of Allah, friends, and good-hearted people, I handed my young friend Bridgette, a talented young TikTok star, and her family the house I promised them in Mubende. My heart is beaming with joy and gratitude,” he wrote.
He thanked those who helped build the home, naming Century Property Real Estates Uganda Limited, Erianah Hardware in Mubende, DT Solar, Goldvie, and the Gagamel team.
“This achievement shows that every small act counts,” he added. “Sharing the little we can brings joy and fulfillment.”
He also reminded fans of his album #BreakTheChains, set to drop on May 30, 2025 — just days away. Two songs from the album are already out.
