Uganda's talented songstress and veteran media personality, Tendo Sserunjoji aka Lady Titie Tabel, has opened up about how she scammed millions of people during her famed stint on radio.
The former Kaads Band member had an illustrious career on the radio in the 2000s, particularly her Kalasamayanzi program on CBS FM.
The show gained a reputation for its letter segment, where the host read out gut-wrenching letters from fans.
The letters were typically stories of people who endured hardships in families, witchcraft, domestic violence and disease.
Now a born-again Christian, Titie recently shed light on how her program was eventually hijacked by fake witch doctors, who paid her large sums of money to advertise their work through the letters.
)
Truthfully, those letters were initially genuine. I used to have so many letters that came in, but eventually the witch doctors went and outsmarted me. They saw an opportunity and took advantage of it.
Time came when the witch doctors were the ones writing the letters themselves. They reeled me into the deal, and they would pay me a lot of money to read the fake letters.
I started pushing the genuine letters aside and reading the fake ones I was being paid Shs 1 million for each letter, that is Shs 5 million a week. I was doing all this behind the management’s back.

Turning to Jesus
Titie says, however, that she was forced to abandon the scheme when misfortune came for her.
Her 6-month-old baby fell sick with an imperforate hymen, a condition where the private parts are completely blocked.
Titie says she started running to the same witch doctors she was working with, but got no help.
It was at this time that a colleague took her to a church in Mutundwe, where the baby was prayed for and the condition was healed.
Titie says since then she decided to give her life to Jesus and has been a born again since 2008.
