Popular Ugandan media personality and content creator Angela Summer Namubiru has addressed fans' persistent calls for her to join the Miss Uganda beauty pageant.
During a recent TikTok Live session on Saturday, the 30-year-old influencer responded candidly to questions about why she has never considered the competition, despite her natural beauty and massive online following.
Her age and fashion preferences, she said, would not allow her to jump on such an undertaking.
“First of all, at 30 years old, I feel I am too old for that contest,” Namubiru said.
“I feel like there are better things I can do. I love my peace. I like wearing bikinis, and if I join Miss Uganda, I have to wear a bikini, and I would not want to go there to change their setting.”

Angela also revealed she doesn’t think the platform aligns with her personality or goals.
“Still, I don't think it is for me. We have beautiful girls who are better suited,” she added.
The official eligibility rules of both Miss Uganda and Miss World cap the maximum age for contestants at 27.
Participants must also be unmarried, childless, and between 17 and 27 years old — a set of criteria that Namubiru no longer fits.
