Uganda Police wins GOLD in shooting contest, UPDF takes 2nd place

Uganda Police has defeated Uganda Peoples Defence Force at the Inter-Forces Games shooting range exercise at Nyamugasani shooting range in Katwe, Kabatooro, Kasese district.

The Inter-forces games returned in its 16th edition following a two-year-hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Participants in different sports activities are drawn from Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), Uganda Police Force (UPF), Uganda Prisons Services (UPS) and the host, Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).

UWA hosted this year’s edition at Queen Elizabeth National Park with a run that saw the best participants receive cash prizes and medals. Different officials credited the games for bringing unity among the forces.

Sharing tit-bits from the games on social media, Police revealed that their marksmen outshone their sister forces.

Police scooped gold gunning 2335 points while UPDF took home 2065 points and hosts UWA 1751 points.

“Another reason to celebrate!!!The Cops have matched to glory in a closely contested shooting range concluded today 27th Sep. 2022 at Nyamugasani Shooting Range in Katwe, Kabatooro. We scooped GOLD MEDAL after gunning 2335 points followed by UPDF with 2065 (Silver), UWA came third with 1751 points (Bronze) while Uganda Prisonscame fourth with 1001 points”.

The week-long sporting event will be concluded by a grand function expecting to attract all heads of armed forces, ministers and other high-level delegations.
