For starters, Uganda had ‘officially’ 45 officials for the Commonwealth Games and 85 athletes flagged off in July at the event that saw both the World Athletics team and the Birmingham bound contingent head to represent the country.
Newly married Magogo’s surprising companion at Commonwealth Games in Birmingham
As Team Uganda returns from the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, the officials who travelled for the event too have their share of attention.
Now, away from Uganda’s exploits on the track and field, boxing ring and other competitive spaces, the team officials were the background staff making sure challenges of the athletes were addressed promptly.
Federation of Uganda Football Association president, Moses Magogo is among the high-profile officials who have been spotted in Birmingham. He was part of the group that consisted of high-profile officials including National Council of Sports bosses, newly appointed sports minister Peter Ogwang and the outgoing sports minister Hamson Obua enjoying the sights and sound of England.
The group shared selfies at Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United. They took photos with the historic treble silverware on display to visiting fans as the season gets underway.
Together with the officials, Magogo, a newly married man to the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Anita Among found himself with fellow colleagues for company.
In previous tournaments, Magogo utilized his position as a Confederation of African Football Executive Committee (CAF EXCO) member to treat his family with privileges that come with the appointment.
As a CAF EXCO Magogo’s family is entitled to first class hospitality at all CAF events. At the recent Afcon edition in Egypt, the FUFA boss travelled with his wife Dellah Ssali, as the two painted the gram with beautiful photos of a couple having the time of their lives.
Hardly a week after tying the knot with Hon Anita Among in a traditional ceremony, Magogo, perhaps sought to travel to Birmingham in accordance with the regulations.
