I could've been playing in English Premier League but I suffered same injury as Van Djik-Rickman

The ‘Ayi Zulu’ singer pondered how his life could have turned out had he not suffered the nasty knee injury. While sharing his thoughts on Twitter, Rickman noted that he wonders whether he could have made it to the English Premier League and the kind of stars he would have rubbed shoulders with.

“I ask myself what would have happened if I never tore my ACL in 2016, who would I have become, which people would I have met , which premier league team would I have played for ? But when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I lost one and found one. Alhamdulilah I give thanks”, he tweeted.

While speaking recently on NBS TV, Rickman’s father revealed that the singer was an active footballer who plied his trade in Sweden with Sävedalen IF, a second division football club based in Gothenburg city.

In 2016, he tore his tore his anterior cruciate ligament and underwent surgery in 2016. It was then that he found a new light in music.

Similarly, Liverpool captain Van Djik was sidelined due to ACL injury for nine months and made his return but with a slackened performance compared to his pre-injury form.

When asked why Van Djik has been able to bounce back, Rickman went on the defensive arguing that the defender has never been the same again.

“Is he still the same Virgil? Notice any changes lately? If you have, then you have your conclusion”, he argued.
