Liverpool falls three points behind

Over the weekend on game 18 of the English Premier League, Jurge Klopps’ red side dropped two points as they battled it out in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Harry Kane gave Spurs a lead before Jota’s equalizer. Robertson scored, putting a 2-1 win ahead before Alisson Becker's blunder that gifted Son an equalizer.

Both teams put one of the most electrifying Premier League games this season in a 2-2 draw which saw Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool drop three points behind table leaders Manchester City.

The weekend, where various matches were postponed, disorganising the Premier League programme, league fans were treated to a thriller game in north London.

There was a goal controversy where Liverpool felt Harry Kane should have been sent off for a studs-up challenge on Robertson, but was only booked with a yellow card.

Liverpool also wanted a penalty for Emerson Royal's foul on Jota when the match was at 1-1.In the incident ,Jurgen Klopp’s protests earned him a yellow card.

There was drama when Harry Kane missed two major chances in the first 10 minutes of the second half before Liverpool took on a controversial lead through Robertson's header at the 70th. Spurs claimed that Mohamed Salah handballed in the match build-up before leveling up instantly through Son, who rolled into an empty net after Alisson had inexplicably let a through ball between his legs in the 74th minute.

The match got heated up when Robertson kicked Emerson near the touchline and was booked with a yellow at first before being upgraded to a red after VAR asked referee Paul Tierney to seek guidance from the pitch side monitor in the 77th.

This result came after Man City's 4-0 win at Newcastle meaning Liverpool are three points off the leaders as the league gets halfway stage. Spurs are in the sixth spot with six points behind fourth placed Arsenal but with three games in hand.
