“Today I say goodbye to a magnificent club as it is Onduparaka Fc, I want to thank the club for helping me become a better footballer and for making me feel at home during my time here”, Shaban stated in his farewell message.

As we reported last week, Shaban is said to have agreed terms with KCCA FC despite receiving a number of offers from regional giants such as Simba SC in Tanzania, Al Hilal in Sudan and Zambia’s ZESCO United.

KCCA FC is looking forward to revive its glory after spending up to three consecutive seasons without silverware.

Shaban netted 16 goals for his boyhood club last season and emerged as a striker who recovered his form attracting offers from the region.

In effort to revive the winning spirit at the club, KCCA FC recently invited Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena to identify 'gaps' at the club. According to the club statement, KCCA FC invited Mokwena to ‘leverage new existing collaborations, create a competitive advantage for the club and broaden the club’s capabilities.

Following the visit, KCCA FC released up to eight players; Kigozi Samson Andrew, Kasirye Davis, Wafula Innocent Esimu, Erisa Ssekisambu, Kaddu Patrick Henry, Bukenya Joseph, Gift Ali Abubakar and Mugerwa Yassar.
